I was a little too young to be allowed to see this when it originally aired in 1983. Now that I'm in my 40s and it's on Blu Ray, I figured it was about time. A fictional account of the Soviet Union and the United States launching nuclear weapons and the terror and mayhem that ensues. The Blu Ray transfer was very well done and I must say...it was definitely worth the wait.

A very interesting movie that shows some of the horrors of a nuclear holocaust. But, it is nowhere as exciting or dramatic as the cover portrays it to be.. just lots of drama. It is a DVD version of a 1980s TV series.

Dated movie but still relevant to today - frankly was horrified at the devastation of a nuclear war. Acting was very good and overall definitely got the point across of what we would go thru if a nuclear war happened.

I have watched this scary but realistic movie over ten times! When it came out in the 1980 we were all scared to death! Fast Forward to 2022 and here we are again with Russia! It so realistic that it's scary to watch!

Great movie with great special effects for its era. My mum got me to watch this film claims she seen it back in theaters and it scared her. Watching it now with a bunker baby in the White House it makes this movie seem realistic

Excellent Blue Ray copy!!! Both Theatrical and the version you would see on USA network and TBS is on there. Jason Robards gives an awesome performance.

It's an oldie but goodie. My husband was glad to find it on the Best Buy website to purchase.

It is shocking to see a glimpse of what could actually happen if nuclear bombs were actually dropped around innocent people. It is creepy to think this could have actually happened.

I saw this movie when it originally aired on TV. It's the normal TV fodder, but nothing special. Destruction, people sick, trying to crawl out of debris, characters dying, hopelessness and families torn apart. The problem is that it's not realistic (TV). The comment in the synopsis that 'pro military hawks think that annihilation is an acceptable means of gaining power' or people needed to be counseled afterwards is ridiculous. It's a 1983 disaster movie, kind of like the Walking Dead, without the action, zombies or special effects.

Saw this like to comment on this movie, yes would like to pick it up
