"The Deep" 1977 Staring Robert Shaw, Jacqueline Bisset, Nick Nolte, Louis Gossett, Jr., and Eli Wallach. What a GREAT cast of stars. I enjoyed the movie plot, the actors, and the treasure hunt off of Bermuda. Oh the plot; a couple (Nick and Jacqueline) on vacation go diving off the coast of Bermuda, but they find more than they can bargain for. They find drugs, you know the local drug lord (Louis Gossett, Jr.) wants them. They find gold treasure, you know everyone wants the treasure. And of course you have to go to the expert of the seas regarding the treasure; Robert Shaw! Bring in Eli Wallach for the history/knowledge on the drugs. Enjoy!

If you want a companion piece to Jaws, The Deep is a fine choice. Also penned by Peter Benchley and starring Robert Shaw, there's plenty of breathtaking underwater photography. Nick Nolte is great in his leading man role, and Jaqueline Bisset is stunning and sympathetic as the wife drawn into the deep water adventure. Picture quality is remarkable for the film's age. A fine transfer of a quality catalogue title. Recommended.

Great movie - even better book. If you liked Jaws, you’ll like this. Typical Peter Benchley. Compared to movies from the past 30 years, you’d have to say this is a classy movie. You don’t have thousands of cuss words and multiple sexual encounters with a story line mixed in somewhere. It’s riveting, full of action and you’ll love the moray eel.

Essentially this is a story about 2 treasures & two different ships – both of the ships sunk atop of each other and contained a different treasure – Morphine Ampules and Spanish Gold. The entire cast did a superb-job acting-out this adventure-mystery story and all the cinematography, to include extensive underwater scenes, was beautifully done. The “shooting” mix was about 50% above water and 50% below the water. THE DEEP is a crowd pleaser!

I first saw The Deep years ago. I came across it when I was looking through a DVD bargain bin. I love this movie. It still holds up after all this time. If you like treasure adventure movies then you'll like The Deep

I remember going to the movies to see The Deep which was the underwater follow-up to Jaws. Jacqueline Bissett looked so good in this action thriller, and it was when Lou Gossett, Nick Nolte and Robert Shaw was at their best. This bluray looks great in HD and brings back great memories when Spielberg was at his best.

I wanted this version on Blue-Ray because it has the Making of The Deep special that ran on TV back in the '70's. The movie is crisp and clean, as it should be. The special shows it was not filmed on the best quality media for long term storage, but was a great companion to the movie.

The Deep was a great adventure movie with excellent photography. It was full of suspense and scary. Definitely keeps your attention. Always loved this movie and was a fan of Jacqueline Bisset. I forgot how much I enjoyed it since I haven’t seen it for years and years. Good entertainment.

The picture and sound quality are very good and is presented in widescreen. There is a 48 minute making of and 6 scenes from the 3 hour extended tv version.

The Deep looks great in Blu-ray. a young Nick Nolte and voluptuous Jacqueline Bisset are a lot of fun in this thriller. Robert Shaw is as terrific in this as he was in Jaws.

This was another film that I was upgrading from dvd to Blu Ray. There is absolutely no comparison, as the Blu Ray is sooooo much better. The Deep is a great film that absolutely needs Blu Ray. If you love Jaws, you'll love The Deep.

Before there was Into the Blue there was The Deep! This is an excellent movie about the sea and deep sea diving. Beautiful cinematography!

Entertaining treasure adventure. Underwater scenes are good on blu ray. Reasonable audio for a 70's flick. Fans of the movie will enjoy.

If you love Jaws check this one out. While not per say a classic like Jaws, this stars Robert Shaw and also is a story by Peter Benchley.

From the writer of The Exorcism comes an interesting film that is somewhat underrated.

When I was a kid I read the book now that I found the movie version I really enjoy watching this great movie. I like the beginning of the movie.
