This movie starts off with somewhat of a good thrill. But to me if you are looking for a really awesome horror movie then this is not for you. It has some good twist and turns, but it can be expected.

I really enjoyed this movie. The actors aren't that known, but the acting was really good and better then some of more known actors.

The DVD would not play. I was eagerly looking forward to watching this movie but after trying every DVD player I had it was like all I got was a empty disc. There was no picture on it!

If I could rate this film higher than 5 stars I would. The movie alone is one of the scariest I have ever seen, right under The Exorcist. Very intense, suspenseful movie that not only has it "pop-out" moments, but builds on the atmosphere making it a very scary film throughout.
I couldn't have asked for more on the blu-ray disc. It gives you BOTH Unrated Version and the Theatrical Version in High Definition. With 2 terrifying endings. The video is crystal clear. The audio is one of the features that stick out. You can hear everything from deep base sounds, to high screams, to drops of water hitting the inside of the cave.
Highly, Highly Recommended. This is my favorite Blu-ray disc (out of the 20 that I have) and couldn't say this anymore but if you are looking at buying one blu-ray movie, Get this one!

This was by far the BEST horror film of 2006. I remember seeing this movie during commercials and such but for whatever reason I never got to see it on the big screen. So for Halloween 2007 I ended up buying this movie to watch on one of my scary movie nights and hands down not only me but my entire group of friends applauded this fantastic piece of horror that we had just witnessed. Director Neil Marshall used his surroundings well placing the scary bits of horror that will make you jump out of seat with speed and economy. The no-name actors did an excellent job of feeling like they actually cared for each other, a sister-hood as you must that was going to be in this till the end. I'm not going to go into the story and what happens all I need to tell you is that the atmosphere and story that is put forth by Marshall and cinematographer Sam McCurdy is awesome. Will you be scared, YES! Will you be talking about this movie tomorrow, YES! Will you think twice before you go cave dwelling, if you don't say YES then you have more balls than me! A great piece of horror that any fan of the genre should own and a perfect movie to watch during the Halloween season. I highly recommend it, 5 stars!

-I was skeptical about this movie at the beginning, but man I was wrong. This movie has everything that is awesome. Hot chicks, weird bat-like humanish creatures, gore, flesh eating, broken bones, and of course unexpected awesomeness.
-The only thing that I thought was not awesome was after two of the main characters encounter the creatures they automatically became amazing fighters and crazy.
-On a side note, I saw this movie with my fiance and one of my friends and his girl and my friend left halfway through. He straight up told that he was scared and he was going to have nightmares. He's 23. It was awesome.

Neil Marshall's second film is by no means secondary. "The Descent" tells the tale of Sarah, whose husband and daughter were killed in a grisly car accident. The following year, her friends decide to cheer her up by exploring an uncharted cave.
The unrated director's cut contains the Neil Marshall's alternate ending. It will spook even the most unmistakably apathetic moviegoers.
The DVD contains an interesting making-of and a featurette chronicling the differences between the original ending and the US theatrical ending. Highly recommended.

The Descent: a dive into madness

Unlike the previous cavernous horror/action flick "The Cave", This movie actually works on some scale of reality. Coming from the same director as the horribly forgettable "Dog Soldiers", this movie takes tension, paranoia, claustrophobia throws in horrifying creatures and creates a classic in the Horror Genre. I would suggest anyone with the stomach for gore, or someone wants to see a great movie with an all female cast. Rent or buy this movie, and enjoy.

This movie is one of my all time favorite horror movies. From start to finish you will be very uneasy and feel on edge. If you have a fear of tight places the cave entry scenes will keep you up at night alone. This movie was perfectly made and deserves tons of respect from all horror fans. 3 tips for watching this movie.
1. Try to have all the lights out.
2. If you can watch with surround sound then do it.
3. The less you know about the movie the better.
Enjoy!
