    Great Game

This is an excellent game. Good graphics for a RPG great sound. The people's lips actually move when you talk to them. Many classes and skills to choose from you can even create your own class with it's own set of major skills. You can choose to follow the main storyline or there are many sub quests to chose from. You don't have to walk from one side of the map to the other if you don't want too. You can choose to skip to any major city by choosing it on the map or once you have discovered a place you can skip to there as well. Some skills are easy to raise and others can be time consuming all having good benefits. There is a good selection of armor and weapons. There is light and heavy armor depending on what class you are or what you like best. There are many factions you can join some are for helping people and others are used to steal and assassinate people each having there own ranks. There is hundreds maybe even over a thousand hours of game play depending on the playing style that you choose. I suggest if you do buy this game to get some sort of strategy guide because there is a lot of content in this game that can be easily overlooked. The one thing I disliked about the game is that there is no multiplayer. A game as big as this needs to have online multiplayer capabilities to keep it interesting. Cause games are always better when you can play with your friends or family. It's always cool to see people that have played a game a for a while wearing cool armor and a weapon with a cool enchant on it. Then a year later your the one with the cool armor and weapon and new players are checking you out. It would also be fun to have a Player vs. Player environment as well. Other then that the game is the best non multiplayer RPG I've played.

    RPG Adventure at its best.

Sweet and short. If you like RPG Fantasy Adventure... But this game. Period. You will not be disappointed. The only thing its "missing" IMHO is some online ability. The graphics are top notch, the controls are very well done (ranged attacks can be painful), the story line awesome, the content extremely detailed. Even if you play hard core and push to the final "goal" the game does not end. You can can continue to play it indefinitely building your avatar and affecting the world. Whether you are playing serious or just causing the poor npcs grief this game is just a blast blast blast.

I will say I'm not too into RPG's, but this is one of the best I've ever played. The world map id rediculous, you could walk around for hours and not even accomplish any game tasks, and just appreciate the dazzling landscapes and scenery. THere are alot of options on how you can customize your character. However, just liek most RPG's, your character gets to a point where you kill everything in a few strikes, and have just about zero chance at ever dying. Once you've gotten about halfway through the game, you'll not see any new, more difficult enemies, which makes finishing the game monotonous. If you are playing this to just experiance a vast game, where you can do many different things, then this game is a great one for you. If you want a challenging game that will require your top effort throughout, play this for about 100 hours and trade it in. , because otherwise you will just be hacking through Minotour Lords in three hits until your eyes fall out.

    Great game!

This is the best RPG for the PS3...period. The non-linear possibilities of being able to roam the countryside and simply explore is very nice. There are enough side campaigns to keep a player busy for days and days. The developers were able to incorporate enough control possibilites to allow for very detailed character customization and once you get used to the GUI with all the hotkeys assigned, intricate spell-casting and fluid combat are fairly easy. The only cons I can speak of are: 1. There are a couple areas in some of the ruins as well as in some rocky terrain where my character got stuck and I couldn't walk, jump or climb out of them and had to reload the game. A simple solution is to make sure you save often and you won't lose much progress or time. 2. I bought this game before realizing there was a Game of the Year edition that includes both the add-ons. If you're a fantasy RPG fan, get this game.

The graphics in this game are amazing. There's a ridiculous amount of weapons, armor, potions etc. you can get. Many sub-quests you can go on if you get bored with the main one you're on. The fighting isn't very realistic, however. Recommended wether you like RPG's or not. HIGHLY recommened if you like Baldur's Gate.

    An Excellent RPG

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is perhaps one of the best RPGs I have ever played. The graphics are far superior to anything else out there, and in 1080p on the playstation 3, the picture is stunning. The world of Tamriel has a life of its own. The intricate storylines are plentiful and engaging. I played the game for 200+ hours, and my complaints are few: Repetitive voiceovers: It would seem that the thousands of people living in Tamriel are voiced by only a handful of actors. I'll forgive this annoyance only because I don't have to read all the dialogue, like most RPGs. Repetitive environments: Visually, the world is stunning, but after awhile, mines, caves, and caverns all start to look as though I've been there before. Technical Glitches: Every so often, the screen would freeze, and the only remedy was to shut off the game. Also, sometimes backgrounds/enemies don't load soon enough and "pop" up right in front of you. But until a next-gen Final Fantasy is released, this is the best RPG out there.

    Best RPG to date

The Elder Scrolls has a reputation for a great RPG experience, and Oblivion does not disappoint. With well over one-hundred hours of quests and battles, this first person 1-player hack and slash doesn't disappoint. The graphics are stunning, the sound is amazing, and you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat with anticipation as you play this game. Nothing about this game is simple, with an involved storyline that keeps you wanting more, and side-quests that are well-developed, you will continually want to keep playing this game like it's a great novel you just don't want to stop reading. Gameplay - 5 Replay - 5 Sound - 5 Graphics - 5 Multiplayer - N/A Overall - 5 stars

    Fantastic game

This game is absolutly fantastic! Great graphics, hundreds of hours of play time, and wonderful combat system. This is a must have for any RPG or Action Adventure lover. My favorite thing about this game is that for each player it is a totally unique experience, you and your friend will never have the same exact thing happen to you in this game (exept for scripted events). My only con with this game is the menu, while its set up great, it is sometimes a hassle to quickly get to where you want to go. Other than that this is one of the best games you will find.

This is a great game for any system. Pros: Graphics just make your jaw drop at times. Gameplay is completely wide open with many different challenges to do. Characters are great. You can focus on your magic, hand to hand, weapons, or even sneaking. The world is huge to the point it will take you 100+ hours just to check everything out. Added content from other systems. Cons: this game game was out on the 360 and computer first, but didnt not have all the same content. Verdict: This is a must have for RPG lovers who have the PS3.

    Very expansive world of mini-quests

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I couldn't imagine a more expansive game that wasn't an MMO, in fact it feels like an MMO at certain times because various people will kill eachother, so you will find dead bodies in some surprising places. There is also a wide variety of lands to explore and discover, but they all have different kinds of monsters. The equipment and item lists are equally massive and allows you to try a variety of new things. These new things let you choose your kind of adventure, you can be nice or a jerk, a dumb brawler or a wise wizard, a very focused savior or an easily distracted side-quest completer. Side-quests are a major part of this game since some will suit the nice guys, some will suit the bad, and others will have different endings for how you act. These quests will drag you all over the country, in a good way. Going different places is good because it gives you the opportunity to see all of the beauty this world has to offer. I wish it had printer support for some of the beautiful scenes both of horror and of peaceful nature. You will notice yourself going places just to see what is there instead of doing it because you must. On the downside, the expansive nature can make this a bit repetitive, the wide variety of landscapes will keep it interesting, but there are only so many kinds of monsters to kill or dungeons to explore. The expansive nature also makes the game get easier and easier, here's why: when you start out, you are a novice of everything and so are the bad guys, when you get better at your primary tasks (you pick those) your enemies will too, but the rest of their stats will stay low, if they are warriors, they won't learn any spells though you may have. You can turn up the difficulty to counter this as I had to, so it isn't a big issue. Overall, this is great and will serve to consume your time like few other games on the consoles.

I was a little unsure on buying this game. I heard a lot about it but the video's and screen shots I saw online made me unsure. I ended up buying it and it turned out to be one of the best games I have ever played. It has hundreds of side quests. One of the largest world maps I have ever seen. More caves, buildings, towns and ect you can enter and explore. The option to purchase homes in towns. Guilds you can join. I played this game and got so cought up in doing my own thing that I never started the accual game quest/ story line. I spent well over a hundred hours playing this game.

    Easily best Game for PS3

Ok...So, this is easily the best game for the PS3 if you like RPGs. I have spent probably 25 hours total playing this game and have yet to make a dent in the total amount of gameplay available. I could see there being, easily, a few hundred hours of gameplay the first time through. The only negative side is the odd, but unique, leveling system in this game. You may be on level 5, which takes about 25 hours before you really understand what you need to do to level up efficiently. But overall I say this is a can't miss for anyone with a PS3 that even slightly enjoys RPGs.

One complaint that you will not hear is that the game is too short. There is sooooooo much to do and explore.....I spend way too much time picking flowers (LOL). It takes a little while to get the hang of what you should be doing and how you should be doing it, but it is a lot of fun and hours (literally hundredreds) of entertainment. It is not for people that prefer running through scenes shooting people up, you spend most of your time exploring and collecting. It is worth the money just for the game time that you will get out of it. Especially if your like me and don't replay games often. Once I'm through a game I will trade it in for a new one.

I had to finally do it

I had reservations about writing a review for this game, not because it's weak or anything like that...no no, far from it! It's actually so good that there's WAY too many great things to say about this game in a small review. If you're into RPGs, I'm telling you this is #1! There are just so many side quests, main quests, storylines, weapons, and more that will literally keep you playing for months at a time....I'm dead serious, it's that involved! The graphics are amazing and the sound is too making for a very well developed game. "How well developed?" you ask, let me put to you like this....on most games you have to be around other characters in order for "life to go on," on this game life goes on whether you're around or not which makes it all the more challenging because if an important person in one of your quests is slain out there somewhere by another character (even by accident), then you can't finish the quest. It also works in the opposite direction where if you need to slay someone in a quest and someone else does it for you, you get the credit for finishing the quest. I have to end this review right here because I could literally go on and on about this game. If you doubt how truly awesome this game is, go out and rent it and I promise you'll ditch the rent and go out and buy the game yourself....it's that good!

    BEST GAME PLAYED

This was the best game I've ever played, it takes a while to get use to, but once you do your instintally hooked, coolest thing was you almost absolutally go any where, and lots of different weapons clothing. It would would be cool if they made a special edition type game like they did for Xbox 360, which includes Oblivion, night of the nine(PS3 and xbox 360 version)shiver isles(only on Xbox 360 or computer). That would make the game that much better.

This is by far the best of any platform game I have ever played. The richness of the world, the staggering number of possible gameplay hours, the interesting and sometimes funny quests, the ability to create your own character class - everything about this game is fantastic. I can't say enough positive things about this game.

    A Great RPG!

Oblivion is the latest chapter in the Elder Scrolls series, and I would say it is the best by far. The graphics are fantastic, especially outside of the cities in the forests. There are tons of quests to do, and many paths for your character to take (good, evil, etc), and what lifestyle you choose has a bearing on what quests you have the chance to attempt. There's SO much to do, I know that some people can get overwhelmed because it's not obvious in the very beginning what to do. I just recommend talking to a few people and you'll find your first quest. Because of the branching nature of the game, you can play it four-five-even six times and still not see everything. This version is a little choppier than the XBOX 360 version graphically, but it's still very fun to play!

This was a surprising come for the PS3 i am a guildwars fan but this item blew me away for a first person RPG with the amazing graphics and addicting storyline but if i were to rate this between Battle Field 2142, the guildwars series, fable , and resistance:fall of man i would Rate it in this order 1.Guildwars 2.Oblivion 3.Resistance:fall of man 4.Battle field 2142 5.Fable I hope this will give you a better thought on if you will buy it but if you dislike this product try out guildwars instead.
