I am a huge Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion fan, so as soon as I heard that Skyrim was coming out,, I had to jump all over getting it! the game can definitely take a long time to complete (ive played for over 80 hours and still have alot left to do!) if your looking for a great game that will suck you in and keep you not wanting to stop playing, this is definately one to get!

This game is awesome so far, I bought it for pc. However in some of the reviews I noticed some things that I had trouble with as well and figured them out, So I thought I would share. First hot keys you can hot key any spell or item or whatever. Go to menu scroll over the item hit "F" to add it to your favorites. Exit the menu. Press "Q" scroll over the item until it is highlighted and then press the desired number key you want it assigned to. Second and last huge problem I ran into was steam. It kept crashing and not responding when I tried to log on. I just had to wait 5-10 minutes for it to respond. I hope this was helpful to someone. Oh and hold "E" over an item or body to manually move it.

Very impressed with the care given in developing this game. You can really get lost in the environments and the action is heart-pounding. (Never get tired of the slo-mo, coup de grâce cut scenes!) Having played most of the series, this game builds on the solid foundation established by previous titles while becoming its own unique experience. Great gameplay mechanics and immersive storyline... highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the genre!

I loved this game in all respects except for 2 things. When beginning a new character, I have to go thru the opening scene completely before actually starting the game. Also, when beginning a new character, I have to move the save files for my old character(s) to a different spot. Then if I want to switch back and forth between characters, I have to move the save files again. Otherwise, this is a fun game and graphics are great!

This game has provided many hours of entertainment for me. The freedom to travel just about anywhere in a huge game world is a real highlight. Bugs in gameplay are being addressed by the developer via patches (seems to be the norm with AAA PC titles lately) and are not gamebreakers at all. Be prepared for literally hundreds of hours of enjoyable gameplay. Bravo.

This completely immersive game sucked me in from the opening cut scene and held me captivated through the endgame...only to find that that wasn't even really the end: I could keep on playing! These guys have hit it out of the park with the great cinematics, awesome story and solid game mechanics.

Skyrim has obviously yet to come out yet, but it looks fantastic nevertheless from all the videos I've seen. I cannot wait to play it and I couldn't let the other reviews give this game a bad score. From the breathtaking landscapes to the intense combat with dragons and other creatures and people, this looks to be one of the greatest games of the year. I highly recommend you take a look at some of the previews if you're interested! Can't wait!

This game isn't quite as flexible as Oblivion, but I have played it several times with different races/sexes, and always find a new way to get where I want to go, or increase my levels, etc. It has been a big help in keeping up my spirits since I broke my leg the Monday before Christmas.
As I get better, I plan to go to the next level of difficulty, but not until the leg heals. I can only handle one challenge at a time. LOL

This is one of the best games I have ever played. Comparing with "Oblivion" this one is so much greater. There are both newer and fewer skills than "Oblivion" and the level up process is more like the most recent "Fallout" games. However, the depth that the skills give you is amazing. For instance, in the previous "Elder Scrolls" games, you had the armorer skill. In this game, you have the smithing skill, which in my opinion is so much better since it allows you to actually create and upgrade your weapons and armor.
There are infinite quest generators for most of the guilds in the game, the only exception being the mage's guild and perhaps the Civil War faction. The main quest lines for these guilds may be shorter than you are used to, but they make up for that with the infinite quest generators that continue to let you do what you want in those quests. The thieve's guild has been upgraded to a higher depth than it had previously and has so much more to offer if you spend time to get it fully functioning.
The combat system is so much better than "Oblivion" as well. You have dual wielding capabilities, which includes spells. You can dual wield any spell or one-handed weapon. This is really cool also when using weapons and you use a "killing" moves which are cool to watch.
If you liked any of the previous "Elder Scrolls" games, or even if you liked the "Fallout" games, I believe that you will enjoy this game. It is a little glitchy at times, but that can easily be fixed for the most part on the computer by using the console. Good luck and happy playing!

This game is simply amazing. It literally destroyed my gaming backlog. I stopped playing EVERYTHING else just so I can play this game.
I typically don't have too much time to play games, but whenever I do play these days, it's definitely Skyrim. I've logged 63 hours so far, and I think I still have quiet a way to go.
I love it.

Awesome game! hours and hours into it, still loving it. Plays using STEAM but that too is a nice things since if I lose my disk, I can re-download it.
Graphics are jaw dropping. Using a nVidia 560Ti and zero issues. I would get a newer card, but I got an arrow in the knee.

Skyrim is a fantastic game, very open game play!

Bethesda made Skyrim to allow for gamers to explore an immense fantasy world freely. In this they succeeded quite nicely. But they also designed the game to be modified with game mods for those who love modding. Once someone begins to learn that it's not that difficult to mod a game like Skyrim, the replay value becomes almost infinite because you can use different mods for different builds and so your game experience can change how you want it to depending on which mods you plug into it. Another great game built for modding! Now, just add alternate endings and the game's replay value would be practically endless.

Game Play Needs Work

I bought Skyrim via Steam, and played it over the weekend. My first impression is that the game was not designed for the PC. The menu system in the game is horrible. You would expect some sort of hotbar, where you could set up spell combos and/or weapons to quickly swap things out (or cast them, ad-hoc). What you get is a "favorites" menu instead.
For those who haven't played it here is how it works. You can prepare a spell or weapon in each hand -- or one weapon if you are using a two-handed weapon, such as a greatsword or bow. Then you use the left mouse button to use whatever is in your right hand, and the right mouse button to use whatever is in your left hand.
That would be great and all, except if you decide to play a caster-only character (which I did) you constantly have to swap spells out mid combat. For example, you might have to open your favorites menu, bind a damage ward to one hand, a pet to the other, close the menu, cast both, then re-open the favorites menu and re-bind your damage spells.
It gets old really fast and what could have been great gameplay is ruined by the tedious menu system.
Then there is the combat. While the Illusion school supposedly has "control" spells, I could not get any of them to work. There is no clear indication as to whether they are melee or ranged, and no target I cast them on was ever effected. That combined with no snares, roots, or other control spells (and extremely weak pets) means you will spend most of your time as a caster running around, trying not to get hit. It was not very fun and certainly wasn't heroic. I can only imagine that it would have been a lot easier playing a physical damage type.
My secondary gripe would be the character graphics. They underwhelm. I realize the true character of Skyrim is the open world, and that is very well done. I just wish the characters and their various customization options could have received the same level of detail.
Overall, I will say the game is average. It could have been great, but the game suffers from being a console port, with little or no consideration given to the PC, and some truly terrible game play for a 2011 title. Hopefully this will get fixed by one or more mods in the months to come. Until then... I'll play something else.
