For those of you expecting a relevency to the tv show please look for something else. This is a Denzel Washington vehicle. It is an excellent portrayal of an ex- special forces who is now trying to lead a normal life at a Lowe's type store. He is extremely detailed at whatever he does and it pays off throughout the movie. He eventually becomes friends with a young woman who is connected with the Russian mafia. Eventually he gets pulled back to his old line of work to exact revenge of the Russians. We know it will be a tense ride but it is all worth it with the unique ending.

I love this movie and his acting in it is classic denzel.

Denzel is the man. He is so cold in this movie. Loved it.

If you like action movies, this movie is a must see for fans of Denzel Washington. Without giving away the plot, Denzel character is not what he appears to be; a lonely widower working at a building supply store. He suffer's from insomnia, so every night he goes to read at the same all night cafe where he befriends a "Lady of the Night". One night he finds out that his friend is in the ICU at the local hospital, and that she is owned by the Russian Mafia. This incident set things in motion where Denzel's secret past comes alive and "The Equalizer" is unleashed. Better hang on for the ride!

Great movie from Denzel Washington one of his best ones!

Denzel is great as he takes the law into his own hands

You can never go wrong with a Denzel Washington movie and the Equalizer is proof that the man's still got it. Anyone remember the 1985 TV series? Bring it into 2014 and with Denzel, and BAM! You've got the stoic, silent but deadly knight in shining armor that's there to defend those who can't defend themselves. Actions scenes are outstanding to jaw dropping. Chole Grace Morezt (she played Hit Girl in Kick A** 1 & 2, and Carrie), does a fantastic job as a...nah. I'm not going to tell you. But I will say that this in one movie that I've added to my collection.

In This Movie Denzel Washington Portrays A Hard Working,Best Friend And Mentor To Everybody He Comes Into Contact With Weather They Are Coworkers, The Local Diner Owner To The Down On Their Luck Customers But Believe You Me You Do Not Mess With These People Who He Cares About . You Know How The Good Guy Gets Beat Down And For Some Reason The Bad Guy Turns His Back To Gloat And The Good Guy Finds The Strength To Get Up And Wins The Day Boring Seen It 100 Times Not Denzel He Never Fell Its A Must See Just For The Fact That It Is What It Should Be Realistic.

Anything he plays in will be outstanding pick this up

Great action movie. Love Denzel Washington movies.

Wonderfully acted and written. The suspense was dynamic and the conclusion perfect. Really enjoyed the undertones of the conversation between the hero and the bad guy. The interactions between the hero and his coworker who wants to get in shape to become a security guard introduced a simplicity to an otherwise complicated story. I rate it an A+++ and look forward to watching it regularly.
