yes i saw this at the movies and this movie will blow you away, it is none stop action and you never seen denzel is at his best and the action will keep you wanting more. he takes a room full of kills in a matter of seconds. i was waiting for this move i bought two from best buy because its a super deal and this move is a must. you have never seen anybody do what denzel does in this movie. i am looking forward to watching it on new years night..

I enjoyed this film - it had the same revenge-type elements as Man on Fire, and I found his double life as a non-violent friend and supporter of friends (the dichotomy of it) an interesting dynamic. This vigilante-style film was very straightforward, largely lacking the darkness of Man on Fire (apologies for the repeated comparisons, but I know many Denzel fans will have seen that previous film and therefore be able to easily relate to this review in that way). In this movie, he simply (like the TV series) simply cannot walk away from the wrongs that he feels he must right. This is a tale as old as any, but this modern take on the idea was a fun ride and I'd recommend it for action film fans, no question. it does start out a bit slow for my taste, though, but this isn't a major downside for the film.

Calm spiritually centered, Denzel's character works reliably at the home hardware building supply store, setting a good example as a pleasant, ethical, and helpful employee. His character has heart, counseling and giving good advice to those who may need his suggestions. But, unfortunately for them, the "REALLY bad guys" appear and do bad things. Denzel's character steps in to assist those who are ill-equipped to deal with the "bad guy contingent" on their own. A splendid movie in my opinion.

Great action movie about a man who helps people. Russian mobsters control Boston (cops, other mobs etc). Denzel Washington tried to buy a young girl freedom from the Russians and the Russians get violent. Don't mess with the wrong guy. Things escalates until Denzel dies or the Russians die. Great scene at Home Depot with the mob sending in the "A team" in a Predator like ending. Excellent acting, pacing, and enjoyable script which never gets old. Highly recommended.

Denzel is at his best in this movie. He really is convincing as a man torn between turning his life around for the better and doing what is right to help others. The plot, action, and characters are all believable. The good guy takes out the bad guys without glib remarks or feeling good about it. It starts slow but builds pace quickly and holds your interest until the end.

A must see as this is the creation based on the British Television show of the same name. Denzel is methodical as the movie proceeds with initial character development. Then the action takes over and Denzel truly becomes the "equalizer". Can't wait until the next one starts filming.

Had a friend recommend this movie, and a week later I saw it at Best Buy on an awesome 3 movies for $20 deal. I instantly picked this up and had to find 2 others that I liked! I probably would’ve paid $20 for this one alone though lol

This is a film that is meant to be taken as a popcorn action film with some great action scenes, and you can't fault it as it is a lot of fun to watch. If you are looking for a fun movie to sit back, relax and have some fun with you could do a lot worse than The Equalizer.

This has to be one of denzels greatest films. Along with man on fire, which is also action packed, this film does not dissapoint. From start to finish there is action and this movie does not leave you unsatisfied. A must own for every blu ray collection.

I like this movie enough to Have double dipped for this release. I also have the original steelbook as well. That is also a Pop Art steelbook. Though the premise isn't new. You don't get that "seen it before" feel.I have yet to have seen a Denzel film that disappoints. This one not being an exception. Can't wait till number 2.

This reminds me why Denzel is one of the best action and suspense actors out there. This movie reminded me a lot of his performance in Man on Fire, and from start to finish this movie will keep your attention.

Love this movie! He is such an amazing actor. Not giving any spoilers, but I still walk around saying "hit it on something stupid" as he got asked about how his hand became injured after fighting.

I'm a movie addict and love watching great movies and this is one of them that you will watch time and time again. Denzel is a bad a** in this movie and played his role well.

Denzel is a smooth operator as usual. I like movies where the "good guy" is both mentally and physically more proficient than the bad guys. Denzel's character is a step above the competition on all fronts. Very entertaining.

I love the story line, and the action was top notch. I would have to say this is one of Denzel's best movies, and he seems to get better with age. "The good guy triumphs"

Loved this movie, Denzel was awesome. A quiet man that people would just not leave alone and then they find out he is one not to be messed with!

the performance delivered by denzel is great as always the movie was awesome a little slow in the beginning but im just a fan for action

My husband and I really enjoyed this, Denzel did not disappoint... if you like his other action movies, you'll like this one!
