I was a fan of the original series, so I looked forward to seeing the movie adaptation. I was well pleased, as Denzel Washington did a superb job in the lead role...bringing a more tortured yet more accessible protagonist to the screen. The action scenes were well choreographed and I liked the lack of violence for its own sake. The quality of the audio and video were top-notch and translated very well to the 5.1 system I currently have. Denzel fans will love it!

This movie right here was a great surprise! Denzel Washington's best film in a long time! He's back at what he does best! Just kicking a** and taking names! It's like a modern day classic for sure, Denzel does a great job acting, his performance is top notch, and the action scenes are just so intense! And Chloe Grace Moretz does great in this as well, just an overall great action/thriller movie that any Denzel Washington fan will enjoy, I recommend it to anyone

Okay, so I loved the first equalizer. Thought the second would be just as good...it wasn’t. They fell into the same old predictable cliches. I expected more. Not a terrible movie, they just could have done better.

The movie is hopeful for what a single person can do with a little help from others, and they come together to right the wrong. To be able to see how they can change bad things in this world, because of the evil ones who have the power to make life hard for the little people who are not equipped or have the ability to fight back. Sad but it is so true in the world. Seeing the good prevail over so much evil is nice to see. Even when it only happens in movies.

The Equalizer reunites 2 Time Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua to create another great Denzel Washington performance. Denzel is bad a$# with a heart of gold in his latest movie. Denzel continues to surprise and entertain with his movie roles. There is no other like him. I liked the extra features also esecially the fight training. I would have liked some deleted scenes tho. Can't wait for the Equalizer 2!!!

I was a huge fan of the original show during the 80's. Equalizer and the A-team were my favorites. I am always hesitant with remakes cause they typically don't have a good track record. But Denzel Washington is perhaps the best actor of my generation, and holy cow does he do this some serious justice. The special features say that this will become a series for Denzel Washington. That would be awesome!

Love Denzel. This movie was simple and to the point. No complicated story here. Just a man trying to live a peaceful life, helping others and keeping his promise to his dead wife. He meets a girl and witnesses her brutalized face in the hospital and decides to intervene. The rest is Denzel as you know him. A bit too simple and clean in the end, but it sure was entertaining, because we all love when the bad guys get their just deserts!

Loved this movie. Denzel brings great charisma to the main character and helps the viewer relate well to the different scenarios in which he becomes the hero who saves the day. Due to his vast skills, he is the type of hero we all wish we could be. Though the movie's settings tend to be a bit dark for most of the movie, so is the subject matter and thus the setting. I recommend this movie for a fun couple of hours. Just make sure the kids are sleep!

If you're an action movie buff like me, you'll love the Equalizer. Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) is basically a superhero without a cape. He fights for those who can't fight for themselves and is awesome at it. Based on the 1980s series of the same name, the feature film is a great retelling by director Antoine Fuqua. Can't wait for the sequel. The blu ray offers some great special features with insight into the character and the story.

After A few very commercial Movies. This is one is a keeper. The plot is good it has very real characters some victims become heroes. Denzel seems to capture the role as the anti-hero so well. He Helps people therefore finding redemption within himself. With this as his guiding force he does good while doing bad. He is a one man army that takes no prisoners. Even with all the violence it still leaves you like there is hope in the world.

The Equalizer is an excellent movie. Denzel Washington brings it yet again. I would have to say this is one of his best movies (I know he's had a lot). It has a similar feel to that of Man on Fire. The action is fun and inventive and although plot is not super in depth, it flows fluidly. If your a fan of Man on Fire or John Wick, I believe you will greatly enjoy this movie as well. Well worth the purchase.

This is a great movie based on the television series. Denzel does a fantastic job of portraying a conflicted character when it comes to dealing with helping people with situations that will most likely result in someone getting hurt. The mannerisms he instills in his character portrayal are well crafted and artfully directed. This isn't a movie for little kids due to some extremely violent scenes, but Denzel's acting is great.

This film gave me my money's worth, and I'm so glad I got it for my collection. One of the best films of the past four or five years, and not just for the action, but for the human element that it explores; a man trying to atone for his past, and trying to find peace, but in the end he returns to his dark nature in order to stop a criminal gang from destroying everything he loves that he has left. Great film, and Great story!!!

In this era of rehashing old movies and TV shows with mixed success, this is a gem. Based on a late eighties TV premise, a "retired" spy who wants to live a quiet life gets involved with the Russian mob saving a young hooker. This is vintage Denzel Washington as a defender of the little guy and worth the seeing just for his performance. It doesn't get any better than this in action movie land.

I saw the movie on the big screen and liked it a lot. I also used to watch The Equalizer series on TV. This is a good remake of the TV series for the big screen. Denzel Washington is, as always, outstanding. The cast is good too. The Blu Ray disc is also very good with great video and audio quality. I highly recommend the movie. Best Buy has a great price for it. Check it out.

If you are thinking about watching this movie then chances are you have seen and enjoyed Man on Fire. This movie is different in it's own way than Man on Fire, but this is more of the same vein. Simply put, if you enjoy watching Denzel beating up people then you will love this movie. The fight scenes are top notch, and the way the protagonist moves through life in a meticulous way makes it a joy to watch.

Most good stories are concerned with the whole good/evil thing and this one is no different. The difference is in the evil, almost off the scale, and the good, who used to do evil for the government. Loosely based on the old TV series this hero has given up his skills over the loss of his wife but sometimes you just can't sit back and let your friends get hurt. Good pacing, lots of surprises and a satisfying ending!

A man who wants to live a quiet normal life is compelled to make a difference when those around him are unjustly/unfairly treated. Under special features, there is a hotline # given under Children of the Night. Watch this special feature. It is very moving and I truly hope that hotline will be of benefit to somebody somewhere. Not only was the movie intense, but I am hopeful that people like "Teri" will receive help.

and, hopefully, a film franchise is born. Denzel does it, once again, breathing bits of OCD and MacGuyver into the life of Robert McCall, THE EQUALIZER. Gives Liam Neeson's various over-50 Lethal Weapon characters a good run for the money. Among other things, you will gain a new appreciation for just how dangerous a Big Box hardware supply store can really be. Moretz's talents are sadly under-utilized, though. .

That's right! If you didn't know, this film is a remake of an old TV series of the same name which when originally aired was way ahead of it's time in production value and writing. I enjoyed the original series and enjoy this "re-booted" version of it. The ending leaves the possibility of a series of films or possibly even a new TV series. It certainly fits the mold of modern detective dramas.
