I'm a big fan of the Boss, but prior to purchasing this collection, the only Springsteen material I had in my collection was the Greatest Hits CD he issued in the 90s. Suffice it to say, I was in dire need of some Springsteen material. I got this package because not only was it more representative of his entire career, but it has a couple of previously unreleased live tracks as well as a bonus third disk which contains rarities as well as live tracks. The rarities are first rate Springsteen material for the most part, while the live tracks showcase the energy and explosiveness of the live shows. Perfect collection for anybody who wants to introduce themselves or a loved one to the musical genius that is Springsteen.

This album includes well chosen selections of Springsteen's work from his earliest to his more recent . I appreciate the enclosed foldout that includes the lyrics for each song as well as interesting historical notes about the music and musicians. This is a great CD for those of us older pups who have finally worn out our vinyl LPs, and had to trade in the car with the cassette player.

I cant really knock the album as it was intended for new fans and the 1st two discs contain previously released material for them. But, disc 3 contains previously unreleased material - which I wish was released separately. Including disc 3 was a typical money-making-marketing ploy which I am surprised to see that Springsteen allowed or was contractually forced to issue.

Great CD...if you're a Bruce fan - it NEEDS to be on your CD rack!

For anyone new to Bruce Springsteen this is a delighful album. However, I bought this album thinking there would be a lot of songs that I had not heard of. However, I had most of the songs already.
