Short of seeing a pristine 16mm (or 35mm blowup) projection of the film, this is the absolute BEST the original EVIL DEAD has ever looked, and unquestionably the best looking home version ever released. More native 16mm films on 4K UHD please!

This isn’t an obvious choice for the 4K treatment, but The Evil Dead does benefit from the upgrade. Once again with these things, HDR is the real difference maker. If you love the film (you should: it’s great), this is an easy recommendation.

This is kind of a must have for anybody really into obscure horror (hints of comedy) movies. Sam Raimi definitely introduced us to new waves of filmmaking with this college thesis project. Watch Ash VS Evil Dead to see more continuation. (Don't bother with the remake).

A true horror classic of genre. The steelbook is highly good looking and contains the blu ray edition of the movie. Highly recommend for horror fans!

The original Evil Dead is a cult classic--that much goes without saying. What should be remarked upon is how attractive of a Steelbook this is! Steelbooks and Blu-ray books have a strong lure for collectors like me, and I'm very pleased to have this on my shelves.

Classic film that cemented Sam Raimi and his oldsmoblie as a great combination. The guy with the chin is pretty good too!!

One of the better horror movies to come out of the 80s. Sam Raimi, who wrote the screenplay and directed the film, would go on to create other great films. Bruce Campbell is wonderful in this movie if you like campy films that aren't over the top.

If you have never seen THE EVIL DEAD, you are in for a treat if you purchase this Blu-ray. This is one of my all-time favorite horror films, and it has never looked better than in the Blu-ray format. This is a great Blu-ray at a great price! A must have for sure!

Evil Dead is easily one of my favorite "horror" movies of all time. The combination of direction from Sam Raimi and the excellent and goofy acting of Bruce Campbell started here. How can you not like cheesy blood and gore mixed with laughable scenes for a scary movie?

Great movie for a great price. Only paid 7.99 that's awesome. Just started watching Ash vs the evil dead with my son so we went to buy these movies, never seen them before and they were awesome. I highly recommend them for horror fans.

I was surprised that I did not own this film yet since I already own Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and Ash Vs. Evil Dead. I quickly rectified that with my order with Best Buy. A must have if you are a fan of the Evil Dead films.

Bought this 4K + BD set since I haven't seen this movie in years and I really enjoy this. The movie was filmed in 16mm so this 4K upgrade makes it look good and it's probably the best it will ever look, considering the age of the film. The audio is clear and really high quality as well. Highly recommended.

First off, I'm what you would call a horror movie FANATIC! I got all the Jason and Chucky collections, I even like got a massive The Walking Dead collection- almost at the Terminus part so no spoilers lol!!! So I saw THE EVIL DEAD and I figure this cover is fleek and it was in an episode of Stranger Things so I blindly buy it....and it's a complete RIPOFF of this Italian movie I saw once called GUARDIA DE MALE' about a bunch of kids go hiking in a scary forest, and then demons and stuff come out and possess them!! It was even funny in some places when usually I'd be scared....but this evil dead crap was boring! I turned it off cuz it was such a blatant scam off Guardia De Male'. Best Buy, you should not release this crap I'd rather watch Guardia De Male' again if I could find it.

I've always liked this classic horror film from director Sam Raimi, and when Best Buy offered it in limited edition steel book packaging I just had to buy it. Made on a very low budget back in 1981, the film became notorious for its grisly horror scenes. The high def Blu Ray transfer makes the movie even more appealing.

The first EVIL DEAD is superior to the remake that is part 2 in cinematography, performances, storytelling, suspense and atmosphere. Now see it in all of this 4K presentation’s glory. Sam Raimi made a serious important artistic effort here. The rest of the franchise is mere camp in comparison.

It's been highly remastered. I really loved it. Looks like it was done few years ago instead of 37. Everyone who has already upgraded to UHD or is thinking about upgrading should get this movie!

Love this movie!! Great 4k transfer!! Claymation looked great!! Missed seeing all the crap go flying in his face, and Scotts lines are the best!! Always ribbing the girl!! LOL!! Awesome movie!!

Each stand well on their own, but there is just something about the classic done on a shoestring budget. Well before the boom stick and s-mart, learn where the ash first came upon the necronomicon and why he was such a bad-a**.

Still scary after all these years! The film that started my true love of horror. It looks great on Blu and the Steelbook is beyond amazing. You need to pick this up if you are a true horror fan or just love collecting Steels.

Unsettling. Interesting premise. Still a good time though.
