    Better than the first film

I enjoyed The Expendables 2 more than the first movie. Mainly because the action scenes are over-the-top, ridiculous feats than in the previous film. The movie starts with an excellent sequence in which The Expendables break into a fortress to rescue a prisoner. There's tanks, soldiers, explosions, daring escapes, planes, and it never really lets up from there on. Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are featured more in this film, so if you are a fan you won't be disappointed.

The great thing about Expendables movies is the Cast. They seem to have everybody in them. We are talking about the Best of the Best in Martial Arts, Boxing, Wrestling, Body Building...pretty much anybody with a superhero bod or rep. The plot is solid and the characters sordid. The Good Guys are always a bit sullied and the Bad Guys are...really, really bad. They are very easy to hate and you can't help but root for the Good Guys. Campy and Exciting is the only way to Fly, be it thru jungles, or lakes or caves!!! ;-)

If you loved the first Expendables and thought to yourself, what could they do to make it even better the 2nd time, I bet you would have said Jean Claude Van Damme. If that was your guess, then you are right. This movie is awesome. It is the best of your favorite 80s and 90s action stars mixed together in what is a fantasy video game of people doing battle. Stallone vs Van Damme in a battle of good vs evil...what more could you ask for???

Having been a fan of Jean Claude Van Damme is the early 90's it was great seeing him back in action in a major motion picture release. I was able to find the film for a pretty decent price and decided to pick it up as it offered a free ticket to see the third one, when I got home I realized it wanted me to sign up for some other website, which I wasn't about to do. In the end I wasn't too disappointed as the movie itself was a lot of fun and JCVD begin the villain was cool.

    Better and Not-Quite

"The Expendables 2" seems to have a bigger budget than the first movie, meaning bigger explosions, more vehicle wrecks, more guns, etc. The production is somehow "slicker". But the story is more meandering than the first movie, and it's easier to get up for a snack at certain parts, you know? Still, the over-the-top atmosphere of "The Expendables" lives, and the movie benefits from not being an endless string of explosions. Even if there are plenty of those, too.

Let's face it, Sylvester Stallone wasn't shooting for an Oscar with with Expendables movies. He was looking to entertain us with a lot of action and a decent plot. And if you look at 'The Expendables 2' though those glasses, it delivers. The all-star action-movie cast brings together a "who's who" of the genre and they all deliver. If you are looking for an action movie to escape reality and be entertained for two hours, this is a very good choice.

This is a great action movie, for people who love Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude, Jason Statham etc. I like Chuck Norris, & Jason Statham, so was glad to see Chuck in this movie, & Jason returning. Can't wait to see what part 3 in the trilogy will be all about, & how many other action stars Sylvester can fit into 1 movie w/o making it look cheesy. Cause he did good so far in part 1 & 2 : )

Overall loved the story of the new team member coming on but when it came to the constant arnold jokes of "i'll be back" or what not just made it rather corny to say the least. some bruce willis jokes were a bit much but solely this rested on the arnold references making the movie hokey. chuck norris and the rest of the cast fit this movies though Van Damme out shined Arnold in the film overall.

The second time is twice as good as the first time. This second installment of macho action is a better reboot then most. Not only is the action itself more paced and fully realized but the new plot is improved with less cliches and more fine tuned nuances. The actors have grown into their roles and set a good pace throughout. The only downer ( but realistic) is the death of a hero. Give yourself a real action fix.

I love this franchise. Ever since classic Arnie flicks Commando and Running Man I've had a love for campy action movies. Expendables 2 doesn't take itself too seriously and it has a lot of fun in the process. If you love cheesy one-liners and unbelievably action scenarios you're not gonna find many better flicks than this one.

Awesome action flick. The first one was cool enough but the sequel bringing in Victor Ortiz, Rhonda Roussey, ect was beyond cool. The movie is not empty senseless violence and it has a good storyline to it. It is entertaining and even after watching it once or twice it is worth revisiting.

Each of Sylvestor Stallone's editions to the Expendables series expand on an already great action flick plus story. Sometimes you just want to enjoy mindless action. This is the right movie for you. With some of the best names in the action movie genre, get ready for a ride. Not just a must watch, but also a must own. Don't listen to the critics who consider it mediocre.

There is something about the chemistry between Stallone and Statham that cements this entire group of characters. Explosions notwithstanding, this is simply a rollercoaster ride of testosterone fueled fun! Great lines from Schwartzeneger, Willis, Lee and don't forget Chuck Norris! A blast all around. I recommend this to any fans of the genre. You won't be disappointed!

Exactly what I expected sometimes when you buy movies from different places the movies or the quality of the DVD is not good and it's not clear something is really wrong with the packaging or it's playing at flailing around inside the package but when I bought this one from Best Buy's with Ackley what I was expecting

Each iteration of The Expendables gets better. The 1st one, was so so, then came the unrated cut, which made it a TON better. Then comes this, which is better than the unrated cut of expendables 1. Better Story Better Acting And more involvement from other players. Made for an overall better move and quite a bit more entertaining.

If you like Stallone and company, you need this flick in your collection. The plot is simple. If you kill one of our guys, we are going to kill all of your guys. If you need a deep philosophical message to enjoy a movie, this one is not for you.

The Expendables movies are action movies for the sake of action and they live up to that expectation! My family enjoys watching the action heroes from "back in the day" blow stuff up and fight it out! These movies are not thick on plot or subtext; what you see is what you get.

This is the best Expendables movie in my opinion. In this one, Van Dam makes an awesome villain. The only issue is the final showdown didn't last that long and should've been more on the edge of your seat scenario. The 3rd one was a disappointment from an 80's action fan perspective.
