Cover matches other Best Buy F&F SteelBooks

I will not be reviewing the movie itself as there are other sites that specifically do this. I will only be reviewing the SteelBook itself since that is what sets this apart from the other Blu-ray release. The good thing about this SteelBook is that it matches the other Best Buy exclusive Fast & Furious SteelBooks. Even the numbering on the spine is the same. If this appeals to your collector/OCD mentality, then this SteelBook is for you. The bad thing is that there is no interior art like many other SteelBooks have. As such, I do not feel it is as worth the price increase over the standard Blu-ray as some other SteelBooks are that do have artwork inside. Also, as usual, the copy I received from store pickup had a dented corner. This time, I was lucky in that there were a few more copies on the shelves so I was able to pick a better one. Still, thumbs down for poor quality control and/or oblivious workers mishandling these. Overall, I would say this is only worth it to those who want to continue their Best Buy F&F SteelBook collection as there really isn't anything special about the cover art and the standard Blu-ray will probably go on sale somewhere in the coming weeks, making the price difference even greater.

Greed can push a movie series too far.

I don't know if they think they have a James Bond series of movies here, but they are more like the endless string of Friday the 13th movies. I've seen all the Furious movies, i know to expect over the top stuff, but sometimes you have to wonder WTH? LoL Dragging the safe through a city was ridiculous, but entertaining. Chasing a cargo plane down a runway for 10 minutes though, just how long was that runway? Maybe it was really a desert. That's what i mean with this series. And with #8, (this but was in the trailers) being chased by a submarine? I think the fastest sub can do like 40 mph and they are driving vehicles that can handle snow and ice and they can't get away? If they stopped trying to go over the top, the Furious franchise would be really good. They need to think more Lethal Weapon and less James Bond. So my overall review of the movie? 7 was much better. 8, i watched a while ago and i don't really remember anything good about it.

    Where's the f'n director's cut?

They kept advertising this as including both theatrical and directors cut but the jokes on us, the only way to see the director's cut is in the digital download, which I hate. There's no reason they couldn't have put it on the discs except to force the public to go digital but those of us that prefer quality are getting the royal treatment. All the other prior films had extended versions on the discs, this just made me mad. I wish I could return it. And to top it off, the code for iTunes says you only need one code to get both versions but no, it's only theatrical. Universal is getting a nasty email or phone call from me, not that it's going to solve anything or get me the director's cut on disc but I'm still going to complain and I urge anyone else who feels like this to do the same.

Movie come 2 days later than the original day 7/11/17. order steel box , but when package arrived, the box is dented and damage. Although Best Buy offer $3.00 credit and a $10.00 gift card to compensate the delay of the movie, However, my point is pre-order is want to received on the day which is release and expedite what you order what you have, but end up. the collection steel box come in damage. see attached picture of the right hand corner close to the "S" near the edge Very disappointment, and wont order on line again.

Honestly there's not too many franchises out there that last beyond a trilogy I've always love the fast and the furious movies and although their less about racing anymore they still have an entertainment factor that keeps the franchise alive it's a Popcornflix movie of course if you love action and don't want to follow a complicated story line this is your movie you don't need to see previous ones and you definitely don't need to start from the beginning to catch on so watch this film don't take it too serious and you definitely will enjoy it I recommend it on Blu-ray as clear picture always makes movies more enjoyable.

Cheesy dialog, & Furious about it

The writers were furiously slapping the cheese on this movie. It felt more like this film was made for much younger kids with the dialog in this episode rather than the typical fast & furious movies. The first half of the movie is predictable and dialog is embarrassing in how bad it was written. The second half of the movie helps redeem itself a bit with at least some interesting - if not predictable - chase / action scenes. I'd list this as worth a view for franchise fans, but not one I would rush out to watch.

This is an example of way too much CGI. It was just too much, over the top and got in the way of creditable acting and a good story. Seems almost everyone loves these characters. So let them act more and tone down the stunts. They are way too unrealistic and frightening in their intensity. All I could think about was how many would by dying in the traffic scenes. By the way, if it interferes with being entertaining, it interferes with the movie. Still, big success globally and a must see.

I am getting weary of the same type of plot in this franchise. Any one of the leads could carry this movie but we have to inject the story with 4-6 characters that are stars in their own right. I do miss Brian's (Paul Walker) character and could anticipate the newborn having his name, it was a nice touch. I never tire of the car chase scenes, but cringe every time an exotic gets smashed up. I will continue to watch future FnF movies for this feature alone.

pre-ordered thru Best Buy with home delivery. Get notice from Best Buy when product was shipped and when to expect it Day of delivery I get notice to go pick it up at store (which is not fun to do). Pick it up...get home....and the postman delivers a copy. Completed survey with Best Buy asked to have some one from the store waste their time and come pick 1 up. No response. Probably last Best Buy pre-order I will ever do. Oh...yeah....the movie is "Good".

Really hope this series ends, not much more they can add as far as special effects that we haven't already seen in the other 7 films. Car stunts are great, but repetitive stunts get old quick.Have added it to my library of the other 7 I have all in a single case I purchased from Best Buy for $44.99 the amount of space the larger case saved was worth it, I'd wait on buying the 8th film till they can combine it in a multi case as well.

I love the Fast and Furious series, but they have not been the same since Paul Walker passed away. This is by far the weakest of the series. It's nothing like the other films it's more about the characters and not the cars. It's a mix of XXX meets James Bond. It is a good action movie, but not great as a fan of the series I thought it was a major disappointment unfortunately. It was good for an action movie but that's it.

Some of the things that happened is a little far fetched but I think you can't concentrate on the realism of it, but it was just a fun, entertaining movie, looks good in 4k. Descent story line and event twists and turns in there that made it enjoyable and worth watching 'til the end. Again, fun, but if you'r a stickler for realism (in terms of events and character), you may get a little crazy about this.

I have enjoyed most of the series and this one falls right into that. I do think the ideas are getting old and we've seen so many car chases, it's almost getting tired. However, I have always liked Vin Diesel and the additional of Kurt Russell and others, makes for a nice, quite exciting, but silly popcorn type flick. You can certainly do worse that to buy this film. If you liked the others, you'll enjoy this.

After starting with one of the best scenes in the series, the movie goes off the rails. The action is entertaining as always, but the movie undermines how the series claims to be about family when people who supposedly care about each other are cracking insults at their "friend" while he is on the verge of being killed. Overall, still pretty good for the 8th film in a series, I guess.

Of course the Fast Furious 8th film should have been called my gears are grinding. A bunch of street racers get called in by the CIA or some American government agency to help track & catch a notorious cyber hacker known as Sypher. Still has a bunch of great action packed sequences and some really nice cars, but I think they're forgetting the main point was street racing!

I had high expectations for this movie, but I was left disappointed. The franchise was built around the "Family, and their Cars" and surprisingly there was actually very little of the flashy cars and fantastic driving ( other than the end of the film ).....Hoping the final 2 installments go back to the roots of where they started > Racing, Girls, Awesome Cars, and Family!

So, for the average car enthusiasts the movies what you'd expect. Fast cars, women, and trips around the world. The typical Fast And Furious movie...Typical plot with a twist a blind man could see. A few good scenes with horrible one liners and definitely not the same without Paul walker. Worth a watch, but nothing that you need to immediately purchase.

Seems each installment gets more outrageous then the one before. There's lots of action and exotic fast cars, but it's lost that genuine, almost real racing sequences found in the first (and next two even) and replaced by obvious CGI effects. Disregard the story as it's running on fumes. Watch it for the typical funnies and explosive action.

It’s the eighth film in the fast and furious franchise. These characters went from criminals to special ops government agents. Suspend your belief and eat your popcorn because that’s what the movie was made for. The stunts are wilder and the story even more so. There are a few roll your eyes moments but that’s it. It’s just fine.

It is time to bring the Fast and Furious series to a close. The story line was weak and the chemistry was lacking because of Paul Walker no longer being part of the family. There was good action but only one real racing segment. If you have a desire to watch an action movie, this one will fill the void.
