The CW has been crushing the competition as far as their superhero shows are concerned and The Flash Season 2 is one of the biggest reasons if not THE biggest reason. The constant threat of Zoom looming around every corner made for an intense, fast paced season. The jumps to different Earths and the addition of Jay Garrick, Wally West and Earth-2 Harrison Wells made this my favorite season of The Flash so far. Although I must say Season 3 has been killin' it so far!!! And I know I'll be buying that when it comes out as well!!

Although very different in tone, "The Flash" is just as good as (if not better than) "Arrow"...
While "Arrow" has a gritty & realistic feel, "The Flash" brings a sci-fi feel to the 'Arrowverse'... It's very similar to how the tones of the 'Batman' and 'Superman' Worlds compliment each other.....

The Flash really cemented itself as one of The CW's flagship shows with its second season. This season is really all about time travel, multiple universes and Earths and the ramifications of the events of the season 1 finale. It picks up after the singularity that ended as the season 1 cliffhanger was closed, but we do not learn until about 1/3 of the way into the episode how, and at what cost, it was closed. As a result of the singularity forming, there were breaches to Earth-2 opened all throughout Central City, which allowed Zoom (this season's big bad) as well as a host of other meta humans to come through and wreak havoc. It also provides a way for Tom Cavanaugh to stay on the show as Harrison Wells despite Reverse Flash being defeated and ultimately erased when Eddie sacrificed himself.
I will not say too much about what seems to be the main complaint of the season because to do so would give too much away (it involves Zoom) and while I get the criticism, I think by the end of the season you can see why the writers went the way they did, and it sets up a lot going into season 3. The core story is Zoom trying to kill Barry so he can take Barry's speed. Within that there is still some of the serial case of the week stuff from season 1, more characters (including a new love interest for Barry) and the Arrow crossover episode which essentially set up the story arc of Season 1 of Legend's of Tomorrow. Unfortunately while there was a crossover episode with Supergirl with Flash making an appearance on that show, Supergirl did not appear on The Flash save for a split second shot as Barry was traveling through time.
For those who get the blu-rays, the show looks and sounds great. There are a ton of extras with several behind the scenes and making of features on anything from the plot lines to the special effects. There are deleted scenes for several episodes, two convention panel discussions, a gag reel and the best featurette (in my opinion) a nearly hour long behind the scenes feature on the Kevin Smith directed episode. That episode was the best of the season (again in my opinion) and it was great to get a look at Kevin Smith and the cast and crew discussing making that episode. There is a lot there for those who like going through the bonus material. The only thing that would have been nice are some commentary tracks on some of the episodes.
Chances are if you liked season 1 of the show you will enjoy this one. If Superhero shows are not your thing, or you kind of have fatigue over the genre in general then you will probably not like it. I definitely think the DC Television Universe has far outdone Marvel (aside from the Netflix series) and has really flipped from what Marvel has done in the Cinematic Universe vs The DC film Universe so far. I definitely think it helps to have all the shows on the same network now, with the same producers and the writing staffs being able to collaborate. There is a lot of continuity among the shows so, while they are definitely telling their own stories, they can be tied together into larger story lines. As for the Flash itself, it continues to be well written and acted, and is definitely worth your time.

When we last saw Barry Allen in season 1, he was desperately trying to stop a vortex from swallowing Central City. It was definitely a dramatic way to cap off the season and left the audience wanting for more. Season 2 didn't start off with a bang, but it paced along very well. It doesn't continue immediately from the ending of season 1, but rather 6 months after. You'd think that the disaster level event would have brought the team closer, but it actually left the team worse off. Barry taking the events that occurred especially hard, putting the blame on himself.
I'm very excited to see how this show will continue to develop as the weeks go by. This show's potential is limitless as they continue to introduce iconic Flash characters from the comics. Atom Smasher looked great for the most part. The costume design, especially the helmet, looked amazing, but the awkward looking CGI did throw me off a bit. Anyways, can't wait to watch more of this season, I know it's going to be great!

I've always enjoyed the TV show the Flash since it first came on I've been a great fan! I remember watching the first Flash TV show in the early 90's. That show was good but the special effects were bad but good for that time. The new Flash series has great special effects, story and awesome characters. The actor that plays Barry Allen is awesome he brings humor, drama and life to the character. Also his friends and other characters are great! I recommend this show to everyone the dvd set is great. No special bonus stuff but you do get a Ultra Violet digital copy code so you stream all Flash season 2 parts on your computer or mobile device using the UV app.

Just like the 1st season, the series 2nd season continues the epic story arcs of the Flash to its peak capacity. Team Flash continues its battle on its array of meta humans that wreak havoc in Central City. The main villain this season is Zoom who is just as determined to destroy the flash as the Reverse Flash was in the 1st season.
This time, team Flash has the help from Jay Garrick, the 1st Flash from earth 2, as well as, Harrison Wells from earth 2, who both have been battling Zoom from their earth. The season keeps you in suspense throughout with a surprising twist as to Jay Garrick's battle with Zoom.

As a comic book and super hero fan, I truly am enjoying the Flash as a TV series. The writing is decent, the acting is tolerable, and let's face it---who wouldn't want to run at super speed? Season 2 is picking up nicely with a combination of fighting bad guys, romantic and other relationships being developed, and an underlying story-line that will set the tone for the entire season and keep you guessing about where this is all heading. If you're looking for a series with good, clean super-hero fun, I recommend the Flash!

The Flash's storyline and writing is fantastic. It has everything excitement, tragedy, laughter and quite a bit of sadness. This show talks to me in a personal way. It deals with loss of loved ones sometimes and the actiing and writing tell in a way that'll make a tear come to your eye. Of course it's a superhero show so it has plenty of heroics and helping and changing charactors lives on the show. Grant Gustin is a great actor and truly makes this show. If you love superhero shows this is the one for you.

This is a fantastic series to watch especially if you like superhero shows. Season two continues with a battle with another speedster. This villain is from a alternate earth and its quite amazing how the characters have to travel back and forth. There is also a crossover episode as well. So if you like the flash and other dc heroes on cw then this is for you.

Flash continued with its superb series for a second go around. I really enjoy the main characters and think they fit well. There's a lot of back and forth, which at times can be a little blah, but mostly it works. There is a heavy does of time travel and alternate universe that is a bit much, but it opens the door for a lot in the future and hopefully they reign it back in. For the DC group this is the cream of the crop. Ready to see what's to come.

Commenting on the quality of the programming: This series is fantastic, capturing the awe and wonder of the comics and translating it well for the small screen.
Commenting on the quality of the product: The set is nicely packaged with a treatment to the slipcase that allows a genuine sheen to the artwork that sets it apart. The discs are secure in their case and it does not take up much room on your shelf!
