"The Following" is probably the best of recent dark natured TV serials. "Bates Motel" and "Hannibal" have their charms but "The Following" has Kevin Williamson of "Scream" fame running the ship and Kevin Bacon as ex-FBI agent Ryan Hardy trying to recapture a serial killer who now has a cult behind him doing his dirty work. Don't get to attached to many characters for they come and go in very nasty ways. There is an air of paranoia running throughout where you can't even trust a nanny to be a good guy. James Purefoy deserves attention as Joe Carroll, Hardy's foil. He's so twisted. Charming one minute and a calculating psycho the next. "The Following" is a terrific binge watch. Season 2 is in broadcast now and the quality has not lessened. If you like twisty, scary and occasionally horrifying "The Following" is the one to watch.

I love Kevin Bacon. He is so talented and his role in the first season of "The Following" is well suited to him. Bacon plays an ex-FBI agent chasing a serial killer (what other kind is there?) who has just escaped from prison. Bacon has to deal with the loyal followers of this charismatic killer, and there are a lot of tense action scenes throughout. This FOX drama is getting ready to premiere its third season. This is a very compelling drama and I really love it.

I like BATES MOTEL - it's an inventive reimagining of the classic Psycho, and it's sinister. I like HANNIBAL, too, another reimagining of a classic story, and truly elegant horror. I like SLEEPY HOLLOW - what a fun romp through the supernatural. But I love THE FOLLOWING. In fact, I'd admit to being nearly obsessed with it in an "I can't wait for the next episode" way when watching a season before it's released to video. Not since episodes of the old Hitchcock series, The Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits has television honestly scared me. But THE FOLLOWING does - every episode. Each one is filled with surprises and shocks, and there's no sense of security at all left to a viewer. It's akin to what Hitchcock did by killing off Janet Leigh so early in Psycho, leaving viewers with no safety net about the characters living or dying from that moment on. Same here. Kevin Williamson of Scream fame, who created the show, learned his lessons well. You'll never watch in comfort. But the almost non-stop action, suspense, and shock will keep you wildly entertained.

Really a great series so far,its disturbing because of the sheer pleasure that the Carrol character gets from killing,& his Cult minions, they are relentless,& disturbing,but the whole thing really draws you in, due to the character base & very good acting,I think this is some of Kevin Bacons best work,the only problem is the one major flaw,that F.B.I. always go into situations in groups, & in this there are alot of times that they dont,leaving them in very vulnerable positions,but if you can get past that,Its great stuff!

I am not a Kevin Bacon fan, but my sister-in-law kept telling me how good of a show this was. She isn't one for suspense, cult killing type of shows or movies so when she told me that my husband and I should watch it I bought it on DVD. I loved the show after the first episode. This is a role Kevin Bacon was made to play. The plot, the characters, everything fits together very well. I don't think it is a scary kind show, I think it is very suspenseful. It keeps you guessing the entire time. And it is one of those shows that does make some of us sit back and think, "There really are people like this in our world." That's the only "scary" part.

The new series will keep you on your toes. There are plot twists within plots twists and you'll enjoy every minute. The FBI are always right on the heals of the famous serial killer, Joe and his followers. People, every day ordinary people in fact that you wouldn't think would be capable of following him just might be apart of his psychopathic rampage. It's a must see and ultimately you're a follower to by just watching.

This series is so different from what's on TV...it is such a good show. Every episode you're left wondering who else is a follower. It had me on the edge of my seat many times throughout the season. Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy nailed their characters and I find myself liking both of them !!!!! No vampires or zombies but this show still scarred the heck out me !!!!

I will watch anything that Kevin Bacon is in. This series is another in our collection because we don't trust digital storage/retrieval as much as our DVD files! The plot is interesting, disturbing, unique -- even cliffhanging in some episodes. We will watch it again at our convenience/pace to recap before Season 2 begins to catch things we might have missed.

The antagonist is truly evil, there is just no other way to describe him. The plot is intricate so the twists and turns are not obvious three episodes earlier, unlike many formulaic shows. I really didn't see how they were going to get a second season out of this plot, but they have, and season two is even better than season one.

Very good series..i would total recommend this to anyone who is interested in crime thrillers cant wait until the next season. Never a dull moment when watching.....i had my eyes glued to the tv the whole time...good job on this one

Love this show and was so excited about getting the first season on DVD. Great price at Best Buy and couldn't help buying it!! Great product at great price...what more could you ask for? Always great customer service there too!

I watched this show on TV when it first came out. Wanted to buy the DVDs so my husband could watch it since I talked so highly about it. He loved it as much as I did. The bonus features were great also!

I waited a long time to start collecting THE FOLLOWING and I walked into The Bestbuy(UNION SQUARE LOCATION) and I was amazed at the price and it was BLURAY. Great quality and awesome content.

This is a great new series! It keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you just want to keep watching! Actors are wonderful! If you haven't watched this before it is a great thriller/chiller!

It is so great seeing Kevin Bacon on tv. He's a great match with James Purefoy. The Following is just such a clever show and I hope it continues for many seasons

The movie is a TV show that I watched. I missed some episodes so I bought it. It is great. Did not realize they had a seizure indeed season. That is a must have

Both main actors deliver an awesome performance. Very good drama with some unexpected twist. If Kevin Bacon is outstanding James Purefoy is over the top !

While not the heart pounding suspense of a "24" episode, it still has a tight storyline plot and moves along in each episode at a pace that makes you glad you bought the season so you don't have to wait to see the next episode.

I loved The Following when it was on, but missed 1/2 of one episode. I was excited to finally be able to buy it on DVD. It was just as good as I remembered.
