This is a great movie in itself but if you ever worked at McDonald's and hey who did not look more seriously you took the job the more interesting this movie because I don't want to give away any spoilers but in the end he stole it depending on your opinion he stole it. Michael Keaton is really believable and upon meeting second wife Joan it is unspoken but you just know they will end up together and they do. We saw it on one of our last date so I had to buy it to remember him by it is one of the few things I have left I miss you . Another thing we have in common interest and quirky things that other people would just say oh that's neat

For those who don't know how McDonalds became a national and then a global corporation, The Founder is a fun movie based on the true story of how Ray Croc saw an opportunity with a small burger joint in San Bernardino, CA. Yes, it's a lot of Hollywood but it gives someone unfamiliar with the whole franchise concept. Carl's Jr. (Hardee's) and Taco Bell had their start in California but how fast these chains grew nationally was one story, whereas how McDonald's grew into an empire is the subject of this movie. Face paced and fun, the movie is full of energy focusing on the positive and omits a lot of the ugliness between Kroc the McDonald family.

The golden arches are a little rusty after watching this film. A great telling how the world's biggest restaurant chain came to be. The two brothers that developed the model that most fast food chains have adopted and how they lost it to a crafty, cunning and deceitful former salesman. Excellent casting and cinematography although San Bernardino never looked so scenic! Based on archival information provided by the McDonald family who were anxious to help tell the story.

A very brutally honest movie based on how Ray Kroc took McDonalds from a local business & turned it into the juggernaut it is now. Michael Keaton is incredible as Kroc portraying how ambitious & ruthless he was. You can admire Kroc & hate him at the same time. The rest of the cast (Larua Dern, Nick Offerman, etc.) are just as great. They really capture the 50's era & how innovative the McDonalds brothers were with the Fast Food Restaurant concept. The Blu Ray has some good behind the scenes extras with the best being the building of an 50's style McDonalds. The only negative is there is no commentary.

I'd seen this movie advertised during its theatrical run but wasn't able to make it out to a theater to see it as its release was small. Finally caught this movie when it was on sale and did something I don't usually do which is buy without having already seen it... always a little bit of a risk but thankfully it was worth what I paid for it. The story of Ray Kroc and his drive to make McDonalds a nationwide... and years later... a worldwide brand. Michael Keaton does a good job portraying Kroc and the supporting cast did a great job in their roles as well.

One of the most interesting films I've ever seen and another stellar performance by Michael Keaton. Why he has not won an Oscar by now is beyond me. It's hard to know how to feel about this story -- it took two viewings to see both sides of the enterprise. But it's worth two viewings and more. Already own a copy. And you don't have to be a McDonald's fan to appreciate the building of the empire. Great film.

I know someone who delivered office furniture to McDonald's Corporation from when it was just "a one girl office" to when it took up multiple floors of a downtown Chicago office building, so I was motivated to see this movie. It is a very interesting story of a struggling salesman who discovered his business killer instinct. There were many elements and people that led to the success of McDonald's, and this movie fleshes out many of the details. I found the story to be quite fascinating as well as a bit horrifying. Excellent casting!

Picture and audio quality are rather outstanding and every bit as in-line with what one would expect from a modern, digitally-shot movie. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the film which was actually quite compelling. It's a great package, all the way around.

If you haven't seen this movie but you've eaten at McDonald's, you'll never look at those Golden Arches the same way again. I was always confused how a person by the name of Ray Kroc could call himself the "founder" of McDonald's, well now I know. The first time I watched this I empathized with the McDonald brothers. The second time I watched this I realized there would be no McDonald's without Ray Croc.

Keaton is great in this, but so are the actors who play the McDonald brothers. The story doesn't take too many liberties but does tend to make Kroc look like he ripped off the McDonald's. The McDonald brothers say they were satisfied with their dealings with Kroc, but their nephew complained. Those comlplaints appear to be the basis for the perspective on Kroc in this movie.

I liked how Ray Croc was portrayed by Michael Keaton. I especially liked how good and wise the McDonald brothers appeared to have been, to have created an ultra-economic way to make fast food, and I liked Croc's drive to FRANCHISE McDonald's. The down side of the film was Ray Croc's apparent loss of ethics later on in the film. But what I liked the best, at the end of the film, was when THE REAL Ray Croc was shown, as were THE REAL McDonald brothers, and THE REAL other significant characters in the movie.

I always thought that Ray Kroc invented McDonalds until I saw this movie. The truth about how McDonalds got started and by who was very informative and a real education. It's best I don't give anymore information as you need to watch and decide for yourself. Excellent acting by all involved with the making of The Founder especially Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc.

Michael Keaton did a great job portrating Ray Kroc. Having grown up in the 50s in Des Plaines just a few blocks from the first McDonalds Kroc built made this movie a little more interesting to me. The movie sticks very close to the facts and it is quit a story of how Kroc started and when he did to build his empire. Keeps your attention through the whole movie

I found The Founder to be a very interesting and informative movie. I was a child of the '60's and grew up on McDonalds. As a child and teen I saw the changes to McDonalds on the outside, but never knew what was driving the change. After watching the movie I now know what was driving McDonalds in the early years. Good movie, well worth the time to view it!

Although this tells the story from the perspective of Ray Kroc, it is sympathetic to the McDonald's brothers side. The 3 main actors all did very good jobs while telling the fascinating story of how the innovative techniques pioneered by the 2 McDonalds brothers was ruthlessly taken by Ray Kroc to build the now huge McDonalds franchise.

My wife and I had heard the The Founder was a good movie and as such decided to check it out. We got it from Best Buy on sale so we didn't feel too bad about making an impulse purchase. We watched the move on the same night that we bought it boy was it good! I don't think that either of us moved from our seats for the entire movie. After doing some research, the movie also seems to be fairly accurate in terms of events.

I have to admit I thought I'd be bored to death when my friend told me to see this movie. After watching it, I realize I was completely wrong. The Founder is a great character study of a person driven. I think Ray Kroc gained money and power because he had little or no conscience...Your true American success story.
