A Fun, Gory Movie With A Cast of Horror Icons

When I first heard about movie coming out, I though they're going to rip-off Tobe Hooper's The Funhouse 1981. Well gladly that wasn't the case. This film was done with a much more comical, gory, and fast pacing. Unlike The Funhouse which terrifies the viewer with scary music, suspense, thrills, and jump scares. The Funhouse Massacre only has part of its name that matches up. Basically an asylum full of inmates escape from Statesville and head over to the local funhouse to actually play the characters/scenes that are being portrayed by them. As soon as they arrive they quickly off the characters playing them, and take over. They get the entire place locked down and go on a rampage, slaughtering tons of kids, patrons, viewers, and anyone basically there. A few teens try to escape/fight off them with the help of some bumbling authority figures. I won't reveal the ending of the film. I would say its worth checking out, some campy performances by Clint Howard, Courtney Gains, and Robert Englund who is definately this generations version of Vincent Price(he plays in anything/everything). Its funny Englund went to school to do Shakespeare/Theatrical Stage Acting and became popular as Freddy Krueger, and played in tons of other horror movies, usually to get killed off. I don't think that was his plan, but he still reaped quite a lifestyle from it...

This has to have been one of my favorite low budget newer made movies in a while. The wife and I enjoyed seeing Mr. Englund and wanted more of him but over all this was well done and had a great cast to include Clint Howard and others. This will remind everyone of Harley Quinn a bit as well and Suicide Squad, but features the violence we should have gotten in that bigger budget movie. Great for Horror fans of the 80s!

I'll be the first to admit, I like campy horror films. The Funhouse Massacre is one of those films. It doesn't take itself too seriously. Great time waster. Take the film for what it is and you should enjoy it.

On Halloween night, a group of the United States’ most notorious serial killers escape from Statesville Asylum and descend upon a giant funhouse whose theme is based on their different reigns of terror. The only people left to stop the killers are a rag-tag group of college kids, a clueless deputy and the local sheriff . To all my gore fans and to those who like the tongue in cheek type of movie. I loved this movie because of the diversity of the killers. Lots of gore and shocks and frights. Not for the faint of heart.

I have watched quite a few horror movies in my life but very few recent releases have peaked my interest. Funhouse Massacre is a different story. Very entertaining!

Man oh man, what a treat. You got yourself some gore. You got yourself some likable maniacs (along with one very hot maniac). I find it funny that the packaging makes it look like Robert Englund is the ring leader of this circus of carnage. Seems he's used in the same way Danny Trejo is used for craptastic action films, though this isn't a craptastic horror film. Also this movie has the Machete! If you like horror flicks just buy tgethe thing already.

The "Funhouse Massacre" is a very low budget affair, which seeps through during the entire movie, giving it a very amateurish feel at times along with bad jokes and some poor acting. The plotline revolving around insane criminals taking over a haunted house could have worked but it comes across as too silly, especially since the script seems to keep aiming for an over the top, silly feel. The flick does have some good gore effects at times, but they cant save the overall feel of this movie. However, if you are looking for nonsense goofy "fun" then this might be up your alley. If you want a creepy horror flick, this isn't it. Robert Englund has a cameo as warden of the $2.00 looking insane asylum, which he plays well. This just wasn't my cup of tea. On the positive side, the video looks good for the most part and audio seems fine.
