Quite simply put, Mamoru Hosada's The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is one of the greatest anime films ever made. Without spoiling too much, it touches on all kinds of social issues from bullying to awareness of one's surroundings and the people in them. The main idea presented here, however, is that it is best in life to deal with one's problems as they come instead of running from them. This film is cute and fun in most places, but still remains harsh and biting in others. Truly a masterpiece. For the fan of Makoto Shinkai's work, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is an excellent starting point for the exploration of the anime genre.

I really enjoyed this movie! The graphics were great, the story was interesting, and I enjoyed the characters. Only downfall is I had a lot of questions at the end. I felt like it ended without answering a lot of things.

I'm glad I bought this for my collection. If you're debating whether to buy it or watch it just do it.

Mamoru Hosoda has been compared to a young Miyazaki, and for good reason. That being said, he has his own distinct voice, as evidenced by this film (and especially 'Summer Wars'!). I won't go into detail, but it's no wonder anime is so popular these days. I've been watching Japanese animation for almost 50 years in one form or another, and Hosoda, along with Makoto Shinkai and a few others, make it painfully obvious that Hollywood is basically bankrupt. They will continue to lead the genre forward, with only greater things to come. HIGHLY recommended!!!

I was skeptical when I bought this but the more I watched it the better I like it this is one of the better ones I bought the last few months. It is you know enjoy and it does have quite a bit of humor in it so I don't have I think this would be a rather good . the length of it will provide you hours of entertainment which shoot you should enjoy very much. I gave this a four star and I think you will agree with this. If you don't please list or if you love this movie and tell me what you thought of it. So please purchase us movie and check it out on your own I think you'll find it a worthwhile of it. As always bill

The whimsical side of this wickedly awesome film leaves me speechless. Such a short snippet of someone's art had me wishing for a series almost. The director of the film definitely had fun I imagine with this one. Absolutely a great quality Blu-ray purchase for certain!

Great movie, -1 star for not being the best edition made available to US. It's flimsy sleeve feels cheap. The book is nice and cover art is beautiful. Picture quality A++

This movie is absolutely wonderful. The only problem I had was the digital code did not work. It gave me an error about the code being invalid, so I exchanged it for another copy. The new code had the same error. If you're not buying it for the code, and just like collecting blurays, it's a great film.

This was the first masterpiece by Mamoru Hosoda, and it's been unavailable for a while. While I don't like it as much as his more recent work, it allows you to see how he and his style have progressed over the years. Plus it's still a great Anime anyway.

I picked this up after seeing previews for it on "Summerwars" and having a friend recommend it. Turned out to be a pretty good movie! I wasn't too satisfied with the ending (too open ended with a heavily suggested continuation that I didn't like) but the animation and music are both beautiful!

I just love japanese anime movies and this one was very good too! I love how it has some romance but has some great advice about time and life. For those fans of miyazaki's film, and other japanese anime movies, this one is a good buy for you!

Purchased as an impulse buy for my animation collection. This is like a really toned down version of the butterfly effect but more enjoyable as the main character tries to get out of relationships and set up other relationships in a high school setting.

I really enjoyed this movie and it left you with things to think about. I am a big anime fan and always find it cool when I get new movies or series. Everyone should check this one out. You won't be sorry.

This movie has been on my "to get" list for some time and I was surprised to stumble upon it in Best Buys. It's been almost impossible to find for years. It's a great little movie.

This is an animated movie very much in the Miyazaki vein with an interesting female protagonist, and a great story about growing up and accepting your faults. Would highly recommend.

Was stoked when I found this movie with the slipcover still intact. Got it at a good price and of course the movie itself is fantastic, great animation, great acting, great story.

I love this anime. It's heart felting and beatiful. The ending it's just perfect. Still trying to understand it. Listen to the documentary part about the voice actors in japanese.

This was a cute movie tailored mostly towards older children towards young adults but is enjoyable for older people as well. I enjoyed the energy of the main character and her relationships with her classmates.
