Pretty brutal not for kids. Excellent story well acted. Some very scenic locations.

The movie was okay. I wanted to know the story so i got all 3.

I imagine this is good if you like to read what is going on through close caption. This disc what not in English. tried to return, but could not since it had been opened.

Foreign film ,worthless watching subtitles! !!!!!!

Truly as good as I had heard and read. I saw it at the theater first, then bought it so I could show it to my husband and friends. I'm glad the DVD has a choice of dubbed English or subtitles, because it is harder to watch subtitles at home than it is in the theater, especially if you are not alone. It is very brutal in some scenes, so I wouldn't recommend it for minors or your grandparents. My friends who have read the book say it follows the book very well. We've already seen the 2nd film, " The Girl Who Played With Fire", which is just as good, and I can't wait to buy that one as well.

If you liked the American version with Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, you will be disappointed with this Swedish version. I read all the books, and couldn't wait to see all three movies at once. However, the actors chosen for the Swedish version do not fit the physical description nor the physical impact of the characters in the book, especially compared to the new movie. The screenwriting also leaves much out in the relationships as described in the book. There is not the dramatic build-ups from one scene to another, as there should be. The movie tells the story, but without real impact. I am glad I bought it, because it is a kind of collector's version, and I enjoy the comparisons. The dubbing is very well done.

Some parts were very tough to watch, but one of the best films I have seen in a very long time. I can't wait to see the next 2 films in the series.
