I have never read the books but I enjoyed the movie. I wish it had been about twenty minutes longer however, since it ended with you wanting more.

The filmmaker did an awesome job uniquely portraying the changes going on in their world. The black and white scenes take some getting used to.

I have been waiting years for this movie ever since my 5th grade teacher read us the book. Couldn't wait to have it in my collection!

I love this movie! Though nothing can touch the book- this adaptation does do it justice. Definitely a movie worth putting forth the extra to get in bluray.

Nicely done Hollywood adaptation of the Lois Lowry book, The Giver. Perfect movie for those who enjoy dystopian societal commentary.

Movie was Intresting. I joked I liked it the first time I saw it, when it was called Divergent, (except without as much violence.)

I had read the book a long time ago, the movie is just as good. Its a refreshing change for a movie that doesn't have all violence and cussing etc.

As the title says, my rating is for the movie itself, and not the extra added content which I rarely look at. I did not read the books, so the movie had to stand on its own for me. I really liked the premise of the movie, but the execution was average. It started off "slow" in that it did well developing the premise and the characters, but then rushed to the end in order to have some resolution. It was ok.

I read the book a while back. So I decided to buy the movie. Always the book is better but this was a really good movie. I will watch it again.

This movie is excellent, although I liked the book better. The quality of the DVD was fine, and I've had no problems playing it.
