A powerful thriller steeped in history about the birth of the CIA with an all star cast and directed by Robert DeNiro. A cerebral, meticulously crafted and lengthy story. Blu ray 2.40:1 aspect ratio, extra features: deleted scenes.

I remember the last time I saw this was with my father when it was in the theater all those years ago. It's decent, but would only recommend to those who can stand lengthy scenes of intricate dialogue and sloooooow builds to the action.

The acting is very good, the plot at times is hard to follow but overall an enjoyable viewing experience. Main characters don't seem to age much over some 30 years.

Very interesting movie, with a great cast. A bit too long and at times a bit slow, but always intelligent and watchable. Will leave you thinking about decision-making in government policies.

The Good Shepherd is a terrific look at the early days of the CIA, with a smart script and good performances all around. The only drawback to this Blu-Ray is the relative lack of bonus features.

This is one of those rare movies that trusts its audience is smart enough to not be told or shown everything to understand what is going on. I fully enjoyed it. A great spy movie as well.

YO this movie is all about the way the CIA came to be, its mad cutthroat, if you like that, then this is you, they be thrown people outa planes cuz they simply related to you. Thats some deep stuff. Must watch. Damon is lights out kid.

This is a very well done film about the a character that is a key figure in the OSS then the formation of the CIA. The script is well done and finely acted. Overall I really enjoyed this movie.

I liked the movie! I have always liked all of the different actors/actresses that were in it ... So I bought it! To me, I don't think anyone really stood out as an exceptional role, nor a bad role It just seemed a little slow to me - found myself getting up and doing other things while watching it. I will probably watch it a second time, this time at night and see if I can give it all of my attention. I don't feel like I wasted my money though :)

Supported by fantastic casts. Robert De Niro is not known for directing films but boy isn't he made this look like a pro? Well deserve a standing ovation.

Great movie, delivers great suspense and its that type of movie to watch twice to know exactly what is going on in case some parts were confusing.

Matt Damon at his best, like the the story, they made so real that it all seems to be historic almost according to the real facts. Best CIA movie ever.
