I love this movie been watching this since I was a kid great movie

70mm 4k transfer and the sound is amazing, must buy.

The Goonies is an old favorite. It's a fun childhood adventure movie back in the day when kids could actually ride their bikes for miles, stir up some mischief and still be back home in time for dinner. Sure, not a perfect movie but it doesn't try to be - nor should you expect it to be to have fun. It's a genuine 80s kids classic adults can still enjoy. Long overdue for a proper restoration, Warner Brothers delivers The Goonies to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with an excellent native 4K transfer with HDR10, a new and only slightly improved DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix, and sadly the same stale bonus features. I felt the transfer alone was worth the upgrade, but the lack of new bonus features or a full Atmos/ DTS:X mix may be a sticking point for some. Recommended.

This is a childhood classic a must own for physical media collectors.

80s movies in 4K are hit or miss. This one actually benefits a lot from the transfer, especially with HDR. So much of this film hides in the shadows. That detail is retained really well in this disc, if not for a little graniness in some scenes. Picture sharpness is surprisingly good. Weirdly enough, you notice it a lot when we get the shot of Cyndi Lauper on the old tube TV. The individual scan lines are all visible on my 65" television like I was a kid with his face pressed against my old 13" Hitachi. Excited to show my kids this staple of my own childhood.

A absolute Classic!!! Never gets old..Never! There are some transitions in the scenes where a lot of film grain is noticeable but for the most part they did a great job transitioning the movie to 4k. Colors look great and most the picture is clear and in hd quality. It's understandable with the certain scenes in the movie with film grain though..nature of the beast with the age of the movie as it is a 80s movie after all. Highly recommended for your collection though! I already had the Bluray version but I don't regret getting the 4K version..not one bit!

This is an old movie but soo much fun to watch. Especially in 4K. It has so much detail and is great to view on a large TV with a great sound sound system on it. So I would recommend making up a batch of popcorn, sitting back and following the young treasurer hunters as they look for the stash of "One Eyed Willey" and encounter many traps and pitfalls along with being chased by a gang of bank robbers, the Futellie's. A must see!

Was very impressed with this 4K transfer. Image is very sharp and the mix between keeping some grain from the original film, and also improving clarity was very well balanced. HDR is well used like when there is a fire scene early in the film. To be honest this movie is right up there with Back to the Future, Back to the Future 2, and the 3 Rambo movies for best 1980s movie 4K releases I have seen.

My favorite movie, ever!! Over the years I've owned this on DVD, Blu-ray and now 4k... without a doubt, 4k certainly shines!! Picture is deeper in dark colors and bright when needed, just to see the fine details and Atmos sound to go along with it... what's not to love?! Definitely worth the upgrade if you have a 4k blu-ray player!

you know the movie or you don't. I love the extras, and the inclusion of the octopus scene is key. I grew up on watching this movie on a recorded VHS which included that scene so it is key for me to enjoy this movie. People called me crazy, now I get to call THEM crazy....he he he. I'm creepy feeling now. Whatever, it's great and I don't care.

I loved this movie when it originally came out. As a younger kid who did not dream or pretend to look for hidden treasure. The 4k version is a huge improvement over the dvd version. This one is a must have and nostalgic from my childhood. It’s a classic and one you can watch time and again.

Like most others that will probably purchase this 4K Edition of "The Goonies" I already owned the DVD and blu-ray versions earlier. Although the blu-ray was a good upgrade from the DVD, it never really was as good as it should have been. This new 4K edition really brings it up to great image quality. Well worth the uprgrade!

Besides the Jaws set, this is the Only other film that I opted for the standard version over the steelbook. The art unfortunately felt lazy on the steelbook but this one is stellar. The movie transfer looks improved but it didn’t knock my socks off like one get Warner titles I’ve upgraded to. Definitely worth the upgrade though if you’re a fan.

The classic film of a group of kids going to look for old pirate treasure to save their homes. I always loved this film growing up and it stands up to this day. It has a great cast, some good laughs, and lots of imagination. The kind of adventure we all wanted to have when we were kids put into movie form. Can't recommend it enough.

Excellent movie and a classic now available in crystal clear 4K UHD to enjoy in all it's original splendor. Was always one of my all time fav's and so much more awesome now! Why didn't they ever make a sequel? Oh well.
