Weird movie But I did enjoy it a lot and worth watching

It's a great movie, the quality of the bluray is great.

This is an excellent movie worthy of your valuable time.

The whimsical story of H. Gustave and his time as head concierge at the Grand Budapest Hotel takes place in the time period between the First and Second World Wars. His relationship with Madame D. leads to the bequeathment of "Boy with Apple" (an important Renaissance painting worth a small fortune) to Mssr. Gustave. This incenses Madame D's family to the point that Gustave feels the only option is to abscond with the painting. Assisted by the new lobby boy, Zero Mustafa, they wind their way back to the Grand Budapest, encountering and receiving assistance from all manner of people (from prisoners to the Society of the Crossed Keys) to avoid assassination at the hands of the Desgoff family. The color pallet and locales perfectly set the dated tone of "fond recollection" for this story, as it is told from the point of view of an elder Zero Mustafa. I thought it was a delightful romp with some interesting turns and plenty of the perfunctory Wes Anderson shock in the form of adult situation and language.

This is a great movie and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Just when you think Wes Anderson, fantastically off kilter writer/director of films such as Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Moonrise Kingdom, can't do any better, he proves you wrong. In this film Anderson takes his unique style and expands upon it, bringing to life a large scale narrative about the duality of mankind. He shows the kind of respectable civilization we as humans strive to create while also showing the selfish and savage brutality we are capable of. This absolutely A list cast which includes Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Jude Law, Harvey Kietel, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, and so many more all perform their role so well, each one only helping the film on the whole. This film is funny, entertaining, emotional, and will leave you thinking.

Best Buy ran a promotion for this movie for $5 plus 200 points towards reward certificates, so I ordered it on-line. That's practically free if you participate in the Rewards program. The shipping was prompt, arriving 3 days before the forecasted delivery date. Shortly afterwards this movie was nominated for various Academy Awards and raved about by critics and stars alike. Wow! I have watched this movie 2 or more times and I think I need to see it again. This is a quirky comedy satire and character driven piece like The Life Aquatic. If you are a fan of this filmmaker's other features, you will enjoy and chuckle at the parade of familiar actors that appear throughout the story. There is an underlying sweetness and romance that is subtlely crafted throughout the feature. There are many unique and intriguing visuals that make you want to pause the movie and soak up the color, clothes, or structures on the screen. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. I wish I could have seen this movie on the big screen.
