I loved this movie. Great action. Great 4K picture quality and sound

When I first saw the previews, I was concerned about a "white savior" type movie, but it's absolutely nothing like that. It's basically a collaboration between the Chinese cinema industry and the American movie industry, and is visually utterly gorgeous! I bought it in part because I want to be able to study the use of color and the cinematography in greater depth.

Watched on new 4k DVD player yesterday. Kids enjoyed the movie, I thought it was just ok. Beautiful pictures and effects. 4k was awesome.

I hate calling any movie bad, so many people have to work on it and so many lives are impacted by a single film being produced. However the end product on screen is the deciding factor regarding a film's worth, and for me this movie is lackluster. A fish out of water story where the good guy wins against insurmountable odds, blah blah blah. The picture quality in regards to HDR is great though, technically this movie is stunning on my 4K tv, HDR quality is bright and crisp, and action scenes, notably those at the end of the film are jaw dropping. Not crazy about this movie but I have rewatched certain scenes ad nauseam just for the brilliant picture quality. Worth a buy if you find it on sale.

from the being of film it started off with action and also finsh the same way. the 4k release color is in my veiw much better than the bluray. this move has alot of bright color in it and the hdr bring it out very well. if you whjat a bmovie with bright full colors this is worth getting.

The Great Wall is a good old fashioned "monster" movie full of action and wonderful special effects. Matt Damon does a good job in the main character. It is a departure of his movies in the past. If you are looking for a Jason Bourne type movie you will be disappointed. If you want a couple hours of good old fashioned fun then this movie is for you. The only negative thing I can say about the movie is the attempts at humor fall short of hitting the mark. In spite of this, the movie is very entertaining and well worth watching over and over again.

To be honest, this film is predictable. It relies on Matt Damon being the hero and saving the Chinese population from these creatures. There is an interesting plot twist but that is not what this movie is about. It is about the war with the creatures and the Chinese warriors, men and women, and their battalions. Each specific duty is designated by their colorful uniforms. These colors really "pop" on to the screen in 4K. It is eye catching and interesting to watch when the Chinese fight in their brilliant colors against the creatures. This I think is the redemption of the film. Otherwise the movie is average at best.

This was a surprise for me. I watched it on Netflix and I thought it was good enough to add to my collection. The colors of this movie are great, in line with other movies like Hero.

I thought this movie was really terrific fun, with amazing graphic special effects. I was a little hesitant at first to purchase the 4K Blu-ray because of some of the poor reviews, but after researching and seeing that the film's digital intermediate was 4K (making it a true 4K release), I went ahead and purchased it. I was glad I ignored the 'film' critics comments about character development, story line, yadda, yadda. I really enjoyed this action movie for its excellent, colorful costumes, sometimes eye-popping detail, action, and great special effects. Watch it in 4K if you can. It'll be a treat and a good time.

This is a dynamic, fabulous film that is so creative, well done in all categories. The action never ends and is spell binding. The sets are amazing. All the art direction & CGI are so well done. Matt Damon is excellent in this film.

At first, I didn't think much of this movie when I heard about it but man. When I popped it into a Sony ubp-700 on a Sony 950G, I was blown away. Add good quality sound and bam! You got yourself a fun movie.

This is the fourth movie I have watched in 4K I’m still being amazed at the picture quality and realistic action it’s like watching a stage play from the center front row, just awesome entertainment..

I have always wanted to watch this movie in 4K as it is full of special effects and action packed. When they put this movie on sale, I immediately bought it. And it was worth it!

The 4K addition really stands out...this is an entertaining movie with plenty of eye candy...Sit Back relax and just enjoy.

I rented this movie first to be sure it was worth adding to my collection! The answer Yes ! The action packed move was great from start to finish. To watch this movie in 4k was awesome, the colors were Splended the drums, the Chinese costumes were so beautiful ! And best barely a let up in the action at All!! Watch this and judge for yourself! I loved it enough to buy it !!!

I like this movie, this action was great. I enjoyed watching it. I just want to buy this movie from Black Friday Sale.

I think they could have crafted a better tail for why the Great Wall was built but if you can get past the story it's a really enjoyable movie due to the amazing special effects and graphics. The battle scenes with the lizard men were just so much fun. So throw your adult mind out the door n think with the wonder of a child for 2 hours and you will love this flick.

Special effects are great on this movie, need a 4K TV and player to really enjoy this movie on the 4k version.

The movie is just alright but the color schemes in it are fantastic so if you are going to purchase this movie and use 4k then you must purchase this movie in Ultra HD 4k!
