    Exceeded Greatest Expectations

Anyone who is remotely a Manson fan should get this album. With Twiggy's return, Marilyn Manson has back and beyond what he originally was. Eat Me, Drink Me was not bad, but it lacked the musical oomph that this album retains. And I don't understand all this talk about making another Antichrist Superstar, why would one want an artist to repeat himself? This album's sound and lyrics are honestly, probably at Manson's best right now, and a lot has to do with getting back with Twiggy, which was great for the band. The movement through the album and it's lyrics and everything else is superb, really, because I was expecting something very good from Manson this time around, but not great. And this album absolutely exceeded my expectations. Buy it.

Rolling Stone gave this album a very low rating which just goes to show that the writers for that magazine are fans of O.A.R. and other college "music". they also gave that white rapper who sounds like Eminem 4 stars. With the re-addition of Twiggy to Manson this album is like "Anti-Christ" in the Summertime. Enjoy it, Manson fans. It may not sound like typical Manson, but it still has the angst and emotion that his albums have. Remember, David Bowie also changed.

I am a huge MM fan and have been since the mid-90s. It is so refreshing to finally have new music from Manson, but this CD may not gain back some of his lost fans during the Eat Me Drink Me era. Some of the songs sound like b-sides from that album. He has gotten back some of the creative edge he delivered in the Golden Age of Grotesque, but not much of the in your face abuse as in Holy Wood. This album really reminded me of Antichrist Superstar overall. I would suggest opting for the bonus disk; some of the alternate versions are great. I even liked some better than the album versions. The album/alternate versions are better than the Unruly Demos.

Manson always seems to create new albums and keep the sound his own. it may not be portrait or anti but it is something different that mixes well with his older stuff just like the last album. the more you listen to the album it will grow on you. pick this up theres not many artists out there that can still make a good album these days its all about one hit wonders.

I love Manson to death and after his last album he needed to have some what of a come back and with this album he really did well, at least better then his album before "heart shaped glasses". Sounds like a mix of Holy wood and The golden age of grotesque . Cant wait to see him for the fourth time in concert at mayhem!

i think this is gonna be one of his best cds since the golden age of grotesque. everyone who says his cd sucks or what not isnt a true fan. each album is basically a stage in his life of how he is at that point in time. and to diss his cd ur dissing him and ur not a true fan. either way manson is great always will be. get the cd u wont regret it.

Great album. If your a true fan you will like this album. The one thing that most people need to get over, is that Manson will never create another anti-christ album. That album is his and will always be his greatest. He changes his style on almost every album, which is why he is a great artist. Enjoy!
