I replaced the first two individual editions of these movies with this set, and I'll do the same with the extended editions. I've purchased each of the Lord of the Rings movies more times than I can count, and I currently own both the theatrical and extended blu-ray sets. This set is a perfect companion to the former of those. Whether I decide to complete my collection with the final extended edition set, or once again replace everything I've purchased with an ultimate saga set will be up to me, but I knew what I was getting into every step of the way, and by now everyone else should too, so complaining about it and leaving one star reviews doesn't do anybody any good. If you want this set, buy it. If not, wait. It's nice to have options though, and whatever happens down the road I appreciate having this one right now.

Great prequel. A truly must see to complete the entire epic story. Peter Jackson does it again. Even though certain characters may differ from the book. Who cares!!?? Definitely inspires to sit and watch the complete collection all over again. And to be able to reference points in LOTR, back to The Hobbit makes the LOTR even better. A must see for any fan of any age!!

So they made three movies out of a thin book (the Hobbit) and three out of LOTR (three thick books). Not as good as LOTR, but worth watching. The rumor is that an extended version should be out before Christmas. So if you want an even longer version, wait for that. For me, I'm happy not to stretch this out further.

I've read this book as a child in school and was hoping the movies would follow it closely.......I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The movies flow very well from one to the next without feeling lost starting the next. Graphically immaculate and great to watch with the family

I am a fan of the Lord of the Rings and knew that I would love the Hobbit. I waited for the box set to watch it from staert to finish. While watching the Hobbit from beginning to end takes around 8 hours it is worth it. I would have been upset if I had to wait months to see the Dragon attack the village. IT was intersting to see the gold turn good men weak. I like Martin Freeman (the Hobbit). He plays the unlikily hero well. He proves that its brain over brawn.

Nice package/price. No printed extras worth mentioning. Secure storage with separate mount for each disc (instead of single spindle for all). 9 discs in all - 3 for movie, 3 for extra features, and 3 for dvd version of each movie.

We waited to get the trilogy boxed set instead of purchasing the individual movies, so it's been awhile since we've seen some of the movies in the theater. It was great to be able to watch them all back-to-back.

We purchased this set because we wanted the Hobbit trilogy to go along with our Lord of The Rings trilogy. We weren't disappointed! We chose this one because it contains DVD versions as well as Blu Ray.

My purchaser from Best Buy of the Hobbit: Part 1-3 Theatrical Trilogy (Blu-ray Disc) was a wonderful purchase. After watching disc 1, we couldn't hardly wait to watch disc 2 and then watch disc 3!

If you like/love Lord of the Rings you will deff. love the Hobbit Trilogy it tells you where it ALL began. The movies take you on a long adventure with a bunch of action you won't want to miss.

Xcellent picture on my tv in both bluray and DVD. Looks great on led tvs and even better on uled tvs. Cool set for beginner collectors. LOTS of bonus material for EACH movie

A spectacular epic trilogy, and shot with 48 frames per second, to enhance the overall experience. Video and sound quality and absolutely superb on the Blu-Ray edition!

If you didn't buy the other theatrical version Hobbit films separately, this is the collection to do it. Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital, all in one box for one price.

While not as good as the LotR trilogy, Peter Jackson does a fantastic job at adapting one of the most iconic books of the 20th Century. I watch this often.

I was waiting on a box set of this and BestBuy finally got one!! It is awesome that is comes all together in BlueRay and regular DvD that is the best part.

I love the Hobbit story and can watch it daily. I'm glad I waited to get this trilogy collection in Blu-ray. Enjoying it immensely!

great movie set. only disappointment I got home and my case was cracked but you can't see it from the inside so I guess it's okay

If you've read the books or not, this trilogy matches the first movies perfectly. And extended version set will be nice as well.

Love these movies. Having all formats is great for movie watchers. Ultra violet is great with vudu when your on the go.
