The Finale is Here!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hobbit trilogy finishes with Peter Jackson's "Battle of the Five Armies". This is a nice conclusion to the Hobbit series, and does a little paving the way as a prequel to the LOTR movie trilogy. Nice special effects and lots of action sequences in this one. I found it to stand up better than the second Hobbit movie, perhaps because it actually gives you some kind of conclusion to the events... A must-see for all JRR Tolkien fans!

An amazingly epic conclusion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here's the epic conclusion to this wonderful Hobbit trilogy. I have enjoyed all three movies, but consider this one to be the most action-packed. The previous two movies definitely set this one up to be a great one. The story is one of my favorites and the characters are dynamic. I highly recommend this to any fan of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings movies. The first two Hobbit movies should be watched before this one though.

Overall Entertaining
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jackson made many changes in all of the films from the books. Many were improvements and some were not (my opinion). Visuals and special effects were first rate. Fortunately of unfortunately (depending on what you're looking for in a movie like this) that's most of what this movie offers. Standing alone as a movie and not comparing it to the books this movie specifically and the trilogy as a whole were all good but nothing extraordinary (well except "The Fellowship of the Ring"). Jackson introduced characters and either never developed them or chose broad characterizations, or left their storyline hanging. Sad because this trilogy coulda' been a classic.

Final Segment but full of action
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was with a heavy heart that I watched the final segment of The Hobbit. This DVD is excellent especially if you are a fan of The Hobbit series. It is full of intrique, edge of your seat, knuckle biting, dispair, and victorious action. Peter Jackson wrapped everything up nicely for the fans, even if some of your favorite characters didn't make it out alive. Any true Hobbit fan will add this DVD to their collection, a classic.

i love this movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this item because it was bluray and thought it was a good deal. When i received the item, i realized i received both the dvd AND the bluray format, plus theuv option as well! The story it self is wonderful if you haven't seen any of the hobbit movies, then I'd recommend you start with the first in the trilogy. If you have already seen the two previous hobbit movies, then i don't want to spoil this one for you. ;)

Good US movie.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good movie (part 3 of a trilogy). Unlike what I got from Amazon, this one is for North America. (The one I formerly got from Amazon was Region 2/B (UK, etc.) and wouldn't play, and the description didn't warn that it woudn't play in North America nor gave the Region code.)

Just awesome....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am just blown away by this movie. The blu-ray is well worth the money. You get more than enough out of the effects and sound. I have watched this movie over 10 times. Just can't get enough of the special effects. I have the sound hooked up to a bose system and I get more than enough of the required sound where you can actually feel the armies as they march along. Would more than recommend this movie to anyone..

An Epic Finale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the Hobbit part 1 first came out I rushed to buy it. A few months later I was dismayed to find out they now had a special edition for it. Hobbit part 2 came out and this time I waited for the extended edition and it was well worth it. Fast forward to the present and Hobbit part 3, I knew I had to get the extended edition. If you are a Tolkein fan you will love all the extras and bonus in this package.

Great completion to an Unexpected Journey!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This last chapter of The Hobbit is a must-have addition to the Middle-Earth collection of movies and completes the saga (for now! Silmarillion?). While there may be debate about the faithfulness of the movie to the book, it remains an adventure that should not be missed. As before, the only way to truly appreciate this vivid world is on this Blu-ray edition. Of course, the steelbook presentation is a definite plus!

Great series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the complete series of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. My kids finally got old enough to watch the entire series with me but we did not yet have the last one that was released. This movie was not only the culmination of the series, but it was the end of a week's worth of movie nights with my kids. Loved spending the time with them and sharing this story with them from my childhood.

The Hobbit in 3D
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic movie. It was all I expected and some! It connected the trilogies of The Hobbit, with that of the Ring. The acting was superb and the special affects are outta this world. From the beginning until the end I was held captive and mesmerized. To me it held overtures to other themes throughout human history. In conclusion I left the theater feeling sad that there is not going to be another movie.

Good for what it is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest and say that I really don't care for these film adaptations of The Hobbit. Making 3 movies from one book was a mistake. But... maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I figure if you're going to pad the book, let's go all out. I have been waiting for a lime time to get the Extended Edition of Battle of Five Armies, and I was not disappointed. At least, not once I accepted that this is not really the Hobbit book I have read so many times before. There is still plenty to like about it, and it is likely to be the only live-action adaptation of The Hobbit we will get, at least for a while.

Another great entry in the series.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed this last chapter of the Hobbit series. Though purists tend to dislike it and the Lord of the Rings trilogy as Peter Jackson strayed from the books a bit, I still feel he captures the spirit and impact of both trilogies. I was dismayed at first when he decided to do three films instead of two, but the added side story involving the rise of Sauron does help as a lead-in to the LOTR movies.

Best EE in the Hobbit series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's face it: The Hobbit film series falls short in comparison to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. That being said, this extended edition of Five Armies was fantastic. The additional scenes added just enough to the movie that the theatrical cut was lacking. Some backstory, some Tolkien lore, and wrapping up some plot holes. I've rewatched it 3 times since I bought it last month. I loved this one.

Exciting finish to the Trilogy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie was battle action heavy, even if much of it did not focus on Bilbo. Some of your favorite characters don't make it out alive, just like the book. I do like the touch of bringing the movie end right back to the beginning of LOTR. The integrated minutes of extra footage and extra features are nice, but I wish they had released an extended version of movie 3 along with the extended movies 1 and 2.

Great Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great movie which is made even better with the special steel book case. I preordered my copy and was pleased by the overall experience. My only complaint is I reserved the steel book case and they only reserved the regular copy. I was still able to get the steel book case because they had them in stock. The cashier just needs to pay a little more attention to detail. Overall I'm very satisfied!

Lots of killings and not a great outcome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The dragon Smaug torched lake-town and was also slain doing so. This of course made his home, with all the gold, rightfully anyones. The armies of enemies and past friends now enemies also will die for the gold in Lonely Mountain. The gold is evil and many will die for it. Bilbo survives and returns home to his house and belongings being auctioned off, because he was said to be dead. LOL. Great Movie.

Great end to an Awesome trilogy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My girlfriend had never seen the Hobbit Trilogy so we went to Best Buy hoping they would have the Blu-Ray Trilogy deal that we were able to get for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, but unfortunately they didn't have it. We ended up buying each DVD separately and thankfully each DVD has been great quality and my girlfriend has really loved each movie.

Great Conclusion!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are reading this, you are already a fan of this series. I was "NOT" disappointed by the ending. Sweeping vistas, great battles, and good characters fill the screen throughout. My only regret is not waiting to buy the Blu ray box set. I had to have each movie as they came out. Break out the popcorn, but I'm sure most fans have already seen it in the theaters. Still good to own it.
