This is by far the best of the hobbit trilogy. It directly starts off where The Desolation Of Smaug ends and completes Bilbo's tale. Lot of action that keeps you glued to your seat. If you enjoyed the first two then you will enjoy this last one.The perfect ending to The Hobbit trilogy.

If you enjoy LOR and The other Hobbit movies, well, you will enjoy this one. 3D version is amazing with great depth and detail. The movie (and series) was shot in 3D - Real 3D, not that post production conversion, which my TV can do anyway. This was shot with cameras side by side, REAL 3D. Worth the buy.

When I saw this in the theater in 3-D IMAX 48 frames a second I thought it was the most thrilling movie I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of movies! When I got the Blu-ray I was planning to see just the opening scenes but… Couldn't stop watching the entire thing! Stunning work of art from Peter Jackson!

I was thoroughly captivated by this movie. The battle was not as detailed as other LOTR movies, yet not a total let down. The 3D was GREAT, the depth and clarity was impressive. It brought the whole Hobbit trilogy to a end and made a pleasant prequel to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

This movie was an exciting conclusion to the Hobbit trilogy. There was nonstop action and the battle scenes were great to watch in 3D. The movie was over 2 hours but the story line kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time so the length of the movie was not a problem. I highly recommend this movie!

No surprise that Peter Jackson has returned with an explosive prequel to the Lord of the Rings with a three part tale of the Hobbit. The special effects trump even the amazing spectacle of the Ring trilogy. The acting brings the physical fantasy into an expressive reality that anyone can relate to. ..

I first read The Hobbit and LOTR Trilogy 50 years ago and several times though the years. I thought the LOTR movies did an excellent (not perfect, but excellent) job following the books. The Hobbit (the book) was not long enough to stretch into 3 long movies so like the first two Hobbit movies, I felt this one seemed a little too stretched out at nearly 2 1/2 hours. Still, if you like the LOTR and the previous two Hobbit movies, you got to see this one too.

Great movie! Loved finally being able to see in live action what I read and imagined all those years ago reading this book. Quality was great and even came with some perks of it's own (HBO Max free trial, etc.)

Everyone loves Harry Potter! If you've not seen any of the movies start at the beginning and make sure to see them all. This had to go in our movie collection--especially with young boys. (not that girls don't love it, too!) Movies I want to buy don't come along very often--this is a must have.

After I heard that they were making The Hobbit into 3 movies, I was skeptical at best. Seemed as if not enough story to fill three movies. All three are well crafted but the finale is superior. Exciting from start to finish with fervor, it is clearly the second best of the 6 middle earth movies.

This is much better than the theatrical release! Why didn't they release THIS version in theaters? Feel bad that Peter Jackson had so much pressure to get these films out and then decided to bloat the story with three movies instead of two. Decent film but as you all know, LOTR was heaps better.

The Hobbit the battle of the five armies is an excellent movie to watch. It's about 2 hrs 24 minutes long but it's worth watching. It's a lot of suspense and action for your whole family can enjoy. I highly recommend this movie to anyone ,and everyone who is interested in watching a good movie.

Peter Jackson created another masterpiece with part three. The forces of good and evil converge at the Lonely Mountain to fight for power and the gold buried within. It seemed a little fast paced, but only to get to the battle scenes, which are epic. A fitting and excellent end to the trilogy!

I enjoyed the Hobbit series and the Lord of the Rings. While I have found all the movies to be well done and very entertaining, some are better than others. While I enjoyed this film a great deal, out of the six this one ends up in middle for me. While none of them are bad by any means, if you’ve seen the first two, you’ve got to bring it home and see this movie as well. If you haven’t seen the others start with the first Hobbit and see them all.

Take that, Smaug! You couldn't handle ol' Bard the Bowman! You talked all that trash and ended up at the bottom of the lake just like the one ring did before Deagol found it and got murdered by his boy Smeagol. Embarrassing.

I loved this book, and I loved how this movie portrayed the book. It wasn't perfect, but it is still one of the best translations of a book to movie that I've ever seen in my life. The extended movie includes more to love about this two-part movie epic!

Though the cinematic filming of the movie is classic Peter Jackson, the story was very fragmatic. Unfortunately, thats what happened when Petter Jackson decided to expand the book from 2-3 movies and incorporate material not part of the Hobbit and to link the events to the Lord of the Rings. He should have stayed true to the Hobbit, but money talks. Still, in the context of the first two Hobbits, and the Lord of the Rings, it was needed material.

Perhaps I am spoiled by the original LOTR, but while I did like the Hobbit trilogy, I thought it might have a lacked a little bit when compared. I did completely enjoy the series, although I just think that the LOTR was a little more polished in terms of the story. You simply can't go wrong with the special effects in the Hobbit, though, and I certainly do not regret my purchase. Now just stand by for the endless stream of "special editions"....

In my opinion the Hobbit films don't compete with the original Lord of the Rings in terms of depth, but the Hobbit is a good time if you're just looking to watch something for enjoyment. The visuals are stunning as expected, and the dragon animation is especially beautiful.
