I was surprised they stretched out the Hobbit into 3 movies, but hey .. why ruin a money-maker. LOTR was my favorites of all these movies and wish they had fleshed out that one as much as the did the Hobbit. That being said, It was an enjoyable popcorn movie with great battles and effects.

This is a great movie for those who like the Hobbit and the Lord of the Ring movies. It is action packed and great fun to watch. It is the end of the beginning chapters for Lord of the Ring. The best part is it comes in blu-ray, dvd, and digital hd. Sweet! Many options for viewing pleasure.

I've been a fan of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series for quite some time. So hands down this was a favorite of mine. I enjoyed finally seeing the end of the book come to life in wonderful detail and beautiful scenery. Definitely check this out if you are a fan of fantasy and magic :D

The final chapter of an excellent trilogy! The only thing better than the 3d version... Would be the extended version, which is due in November. Thank you Mr Jackson for the completion of your life's project. Now, what's next?

It may be hard to believe, but I really enjoyed the Hobbit trilogy far more than the Rings. It just felt like Peter Jackson had some fondness that really shined though, and this movie is easily the best of the 3, pulling all the pieces together and bringing homage to an Unexpected Journey.

This movie is the most exciting Hobbit movie of them all, Like the first two movies really great fun and quality audio and video from beginning to end and really great special features. Any one who purchases this movie will be proud to have it as part of there video collection. ...

I have seen all of the LOTR series and liked them. I think this one is my favorite. There was plenty of action to keep me interested. I could have done without some of the more violent parts, but I guess that one should expect to see that kind of stuff when watching a movie about a war.

Many people were saying that this should never have been made into a trilogy of films, and although that may be true, this movie has everything a fan of these films could ever hope for. This film is highly recommended for bringing the final chapter to an amazing and exciting conclusion.

Great movie, purchased the combo with the 3d movie. Need to watch it in that format to see how great it looks but the movie is great. I hope they do a prequel to the hobbit the give the story if the rings bring made and how it all started even though I know it's not a book to reference.

Although perhaps not as magnificent as the Rings trilogy the Hobbit trilogy has proven to be very good in its own right. Once again the extended version adds quite a lot to the original release including awesome extended battle scenes. Buy this and enjoy it...it is worth getting.

The story is amazing and the movie itself immerses you right into the middle of the action. Have been a huge fan of The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings trilogy. Read the books as a kid and the movies have done an amazing job of translating what J.R.R. Tolkien wrote decades ago. Huge fan!

The movie itself is a must have for any Tolkien fan. Do I recommend the 3D version? Well if you want to feel like the characters are in your living room then YES. This is the best 3D movie I have for my LG TV, some other 3Ds have disappointed and given me headaches but not the Hobbit.

While the final film of The Hobbit Trilogy was not as great as Return Of The King, it was still a fine film. After Lord Of The Rings we just wanted a little bit more Hobbit and the fact that Peter Jackson was able to take over the directing from del Toro made it even better. It was Jackson's destiny to direct all the films. Some complained 3 films was 'too much' but not for Hobbit fans. Great Prequel Trilogy...and that's a lot of Hobbit

The Hobbit ~ The Battle of the Five Armies; Great original book written by JRR Tolkien and then adapted for the silver screen! Marvelous special effects and character development...Even though there were additional characters/sub-plots added, all in all, still a marvelous adventure.

I felt that the movie was well done and great in aspects of acting and effects. I did feel that some of it was rushed and there were so many battle aspects it went quickly and then felt like there was a slight lack of story to it all. Not the best as a stand alone from the series, but a good and needed chapter of the whole story. Sequels can be good and bad like that. This is definitely better than most sequels and a good overall movie.

LOTR trilogy is still one of my favorite all time movies. The Hobbit trilogy just never grabbed me the same way. The third movie goes into new territory that was more of a footnote in the books. If you liked the first two Hobbit movies, you'll like the third, although in the attempt to tie this more closely to LOTR it makes Gandalf's casual treatment of the magic ring until he figures out what it really is (in LOTR) far less plausible.

This movie uses 3D just enough to really enhance the experience. I love the whole LOTR universe, so I really enjoyed the movie. Nothing real bad to say. Good actors with a great screenplay make for a good flick. Definitely worth having if you love Tolkien and the movie adaptations.

the hobbit was a great movie, to set up the Lord of the Rings trilogy, from the first movie of the hobbit to the last movie of the lord of the rings was a great treat for me. I believe everyone will enjoy this movie. watch the hobbit as he finds the ring to the death of the dragon...

being a big fan,i expected a lot,but this was way over the top. the enexpected twists had my wife and I on the edge of our chairs.we laughed and cried,the watched it again the next night.i will miss these movies,and this final episode did not disappoint, it surpassed my expectations.

I have enjoyed all of the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. This is another good product. The quality of the picture and materials is great. My only gripe is that they did not add quite as much new footage as they initially claimed they were going to.
