An exciting ending of the Hobbit trilogy. Even though it drastically diverges from the original book, Peter Jackson is able to create a storyline that entertains. This DVD has several special features that cover the Hobbit trilogy as well as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Good Movie! I would say great but few glitches. Maybe another one to come the way Legolas dad hinted he should go find Aragorn and watch him. looks like we might be in for a jumper movie. One that will jump us from this to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Fingers crossed!!

We really enjoyed it. We preferred the theatrical version, which this is, to the extended version. It does have both the blue-ray and DVD, as stated, even though the package does not have a DVD symbol, or say it has a DVD, anywhere on the package.

I anticipated long lines for the release of the final Hobbit movie. I entered when they opened up and was pleasantly surprised to find that new releases are right up front and easy to find. Used my reward coupon to purchase the movie and was home by 10:15 am watching it.

Fitting end to a decent series

The hobbit movies have always been just decent. Maybe it is due to the original series of LOTR being such a triumph compared. This movie, however was still good in the fact that it continues the same momentum that its predecessors had before it. It continued the hobbit story and still maintained the same level of direction, effects, humor, and dialogue as the first two. And it was a satisfying finale to the series.

This wasn't my favorite of the 3 Hobbit films, but it was still a good film. It finishes the unforgettable journey of Bilbo Baggins. There was more action and less story than there should have been, and die hard Tolkien fans have some valid criticisms of the movie due to that and other changes Hollywood decided to make. If you own the first 2 films, this is a must have to complete the collection!

I saw this in the theater in the HDR 3D first, WOW!!! But the transfer to video is some of the best I've seen. The same goes for all the 3D Hobbit transfers to home video. And, of course, it's goes without saying that the acting, effects, sound, etc are all perfect.

This film brings our journey to middle earth to an end. It is a great day and a sad day at the same time. Peter King's vision of the dwarf kingdom was awesome. I loved every minute of the movie. It is not completely true to the book but a great story never the less.

Only thing I am sad of is that the stories are over. Cinematically, it is a breathtaking view into "Middle Earth" and the plot action is full of plenty of heart racing ups and downs. Ultimately, it is a great conclusion to one of the best fantasy series ever filmed!

All three of the Hobbit movies were each epic in their own way, but if you have a 3D set up at home, it's definitely the way to go. It looks fantastic on a projection screen and the 3D is very well done as long as you have a good set of glasses.

I loved the Hobbit films. While they do take some liberty with the source material you still are delivered fun and entertaining fantasy films. This 3D bluray in particular is amazing. Great picture and audio quality. I really hope Jackson does the Silmarillion.

The fact I was able to take advantage of the outstanding discount afforded me($14.99), made viewing the movie an even greater entertainment value. I have two 3D T.V.'s. Whenever I can purchase great 3D cinema at those kind of prices, I'M THERE!!

This movie brings it all exactly as you expected it would. Big battles, crazy CGI. It felt like there could have been more story but it's pretty long already and we all know the directors cut will come out with a version you will need to take time off just to finish.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies continues the story of Bilbo and his quest to help the dwarves of Erebor reclaim their home. If you have already seen the first two installments, this one is a must have. It is a bittersweet ending to a great Hobbit experience.

Sometimes it's hard to justify the purchase of a DVD with all the streaming options. But, with 3D TVs you need some 3D DVDs for your collection. This movie is a great one for your collection if you enjoy this kind of format or you just want to show off your 3D TV.

This may be the weak title in the Hobbit films. When you have to fill in a whole battle that wasn't even described in the book, but pieced together from other Tolkien works, it can prove a challenge. The story telling is fairly limited, mostly focusing on the rather extended battle. Still, it brings the whole story to its conclusion and is worth a watch. Look for a few cameos while watching.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is the best version to show off the 3D Bluray action. It's great in 2D..... but try to see this on a 4K 3D TV when you get the chance. I like more action , so the last chapter is my favorite of the 3 Hobbit movies.

I didn't enjoy this movie as much as the Desolation of Smaug, but the extended edition of this is an improvement over the theatrical cut, albeit marginally. Still an entertaining film, but stick to this extended edition as opposed to the theatrical cut.
