Great Looking Steelbook - Okay Movie

This is a great looking steelbook and I would highly recommend purchasing this item just based on the looks of the product alone. However, the movie is just okay. Almost too much action in this one and not enough focus on the actual characters. Probably my least favorite of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Series. Still if you're a fan of the series, I'd definitely recommend getting this version.

A worthy epilogue to the double trilogy.my favorite part is that it is true to the Tolkein tradition of making the viewer want to watch it all over again time after time..............watch it on a big screen if you can...it will enhance the experience .

I'd like to say that this is the best movie of the hobbit trilogy. It had tons of action from the get go and did not let up. The only downfall was some of the main characters were CG. The movie lost some magic because of this, but it's still awesome :).

I missed seeing this movie in theaters, and thought the trailers and previews were great enough to purchase when released on Blu Ray. I was not disappointed. Best Hobbit movie of the series. (¯`'•.¸(¯`'•.¸(¯`'•FIVE•:★¨★¨★¨★¨★:•STARS•'´¯)¸.•'´¯)¸.•'´¯)

Maybe I'm in the minority, but this was the only one of the trilogy I actually enjoyed for the most part. Converting the one book into a trilogy of movies seems to have been a good money making decision, but it sure didn't help the story telling.

I have relished all of the LOTRs movies and all of the Hobbit movies. All very creative with some good acting and special effects. I must, however, tell you that I have had my fill of 'Middle Earth', for this lifetime at least. Enjoy.....or not. I did.

I bought this movie because I have the first two in this movie series. I also have the complete series ,Lord Of The Rings. I thought this was the best of all six movies. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in fantasy movies.

great finish to the trilogy. finally the battle happens. as a whole the trilogy is quite long when compared to the book and they took some liberties but it is great to see the size and scope of that battle when the book was quite quick about it.

This episode continues the liberal presentation of Tolkien's story as Jackson doesn't seem too concerned with sticking to the narration of the book - the basic premises are there, but the details are ignored for the sake of dramatic effect and a revised story line. If you are bothered by movies that dont follow the book this one will drive you nuts, otherwise you will enjoy it thoroughly.

The concluding film in the Hobbit trilogy. Definitely not as good as the LoTR trilogy, but better than many films out there. Peter Jackson definitely took some liberties with the original story, but still entertaining if you can accept this fact.

I pre-ordered this DVD for my husband as a surprise. He was surprised I purchased it for him, since I don't care for the movies. Thank you Best Buy for allowing me to get a great surprise for my husband without him knowing. My husband LOVES the movie.

For rose who like extras these DVDs bring a conclusion to a whole bunch of work. The extra scenes are great and as always the cinematography is beyond expectations. The performances by all the cast is beyond expectations and the cgi is awesome.

This one was worth the wait! Learned my lesson during the original trilogy to not buy the theatrical editions, cuz sooner or later the extended editions will be released shortly thereafter. Great picture and sound! Definitely worth waiting for.

A thrilling conclusion to the prequel trilogy. ...Peter Jackson shows why he is the king of middle earth. ... awesome effects and a great final story will leave you breathless and wanting to finish out by popping in the Lord of the Rings trilogy....

Maybe the bar was set too high by the previous series (Lord of the Rings), but The Hobbit has it's own legs to stand on. The movies got progressively better with each installment and this third and final film of the trilogy is the most engaging, action-packed of the three. The Steelbook edition itself is sharp looking and features everything you'd expect from these Best Buy exclusives.

Like the previous 2 Hobbit films, this one is good, yet bloated. As a fan of PJ's LOTR saga, the extended edition is a must have. This movie is so long. I wish they would have made the Hobbit into 2 movies rather than 3. For SERIOUS Fan ONLY.

This was my favorite of the three hobit movies. There was plenty of action and it tied up all the lose ends from the first two. Wish they had some more stories to make into movies but sadly that was the end of the Lord of the rings and Hobbit saga.

This movie helped us complete our collection of J.R.R. Tolkien books-brought-to-life. We have all 6 movies in 3D and don't regret the visual effects put into bringing these books to life. Love the marathons we have watching this collection.

This one has a bit more violence, some blood. Not that much longer than the theatrical release. Excellent movie nonetheless. I just wished that they didn't deviate from the book. The Hobbit could've been fit into a single, possibly 2 films.
