I bought this release for the option of reviewing parts of the theater experience that were too busy or overwhelming to fully comprehend, plus the bonus features. I consider it money well-spent.

Much more reasonably priced than the collectors edition steel book. Also comes with an online code. Just a great copy at a fair price. Finished my collection I even have the cartoon.

It's better to have the longest version of any Lord of the Rings or Hobbit story. While not a good as Lord of the Rings it's still a fun ride. If your a Tolken movie fan I only suggest the extended versions. Around 20 minutes of extended scenes. Doesn't make the movie any better but it is more Hobbit movie.

great movie and the quality of the picture is awesome. it was like being directly at the movie screen. the sound is great without a soundbar. I also will be enjoying the digital copy on my laptop.

In fact i loved the whole Hobbit series. To me, they were way more entertaining than Lord of the Rings. The Hobbit series never made me think to myself, is this over yet? Definitely worth buying

Purchased this movie for my newly built 3D movie projector in my media room. I was amazed to see this movie in 3D with classic visual effects. I got a great price during thanksgiving week for this movie. Happy movie experience!

In general, these recent Hobbit movies have not had the same story, character, or emotional weight as the Lord of the Rings movies. That being said, the Hobbit movies are fun snapshots of characters in the LotR universe, for fans of that universe. For non-fans, the movies are a bit long to keep interest.

I thought this was a good movie, but this really shouldn't have been a trilogy, this could have been done in two movies. There was a lot of extras that didn't need to be there. Having said that if you love the Lord of the Rings, then this is a must see/own to add to your collection.

While the other two may have been awesom films, this one is a great movie with fantastic ending and amazing song. The fact that comes with the steelcase is a plus because it has an awesome cover.

Great movie, continuing along in the Hobbit series. Great special effects which are amazingly realistic. The acting was superb as usual with good tie in to the later Lord of The Rings series.

The battle of the five armies was a pretty good film. It did conclude the prequels leading up to the lord of the rings in an epic battle. My only concern was that the ending looked kind of like a video game. I thought the CGI could have been done better but overall the film's action scene were well done.

This was better than the Desolation of Smaug. I liked the action. The rise of the heroes seemed a little forced. The picture quality is excellent, the bass in the sound was a little lacking. I had read that the missing low end was on purpose from the sound design. Don't expect ground shaking rumble from the sub.

I have always been a fan of the Extended Editions and while I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings series more the Hobbit Trilogy was still quite enjoyable. The bluray picture and sound are great.

Being a fan of the books, I enjoyed this ending to the series very much. Thank you, Mr. Jackson, for bringing The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to glorious life on the movie screen!!!

This movie was spectacular, as are all the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings movies. Even better in 3D on a 4K television!! Worth the few extra dollars if you have 3D capability on your Blu-ray and t.v.

Overall, this was a great movie to watch with the family or if you're looking for some captivating entertainment by yourself. The cinematics were excellent and true to how the movie should feel.

I have to say. Of the three Hobbit films this has to be one of the best. Epic battle scenes, special effects, and performances by spectacular actors make this an amazing rollercoaster adventure.

Bought this DVD and paid a little more for the Ultra Violet Feature which I didn't think I needed. Turns out I really like the Ultra Violet concept and have yet to watch the DVD via the player.

I purchased this movie from Best Buy's deal of the day. It never fails that the deal of the day is the best value you'll ever find on any particular item. excellent value on a new BluRay movie.

This was a great deal. I mainly wanted it for the advance digital copy of the movie (also the main reason behind my buying the Mad Max: Fury Road steelbook, but the set itself is pretty nice.
