I really like this movie. Though it's not really a "Christmas" movie, it does take place around Christmas time, and it's just a lovely, sweet love story between two different couples, on two different continents.

The holiday is a cute movie starring Jack Black, Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet. It is about love and trying to find acceptance around the holidays.

The central theme of this movie is unrequited love and how four people learn to fall in love again. Nancy Meyers's film is impeccably crafted to deliver everything you expect in a holiday movie. The amazing cast gives heartwarming performances. As usual, Meyers's dialogue is at once witty and pithy. From the beginning scenes where Kate Winslet's emotion-filled character Iris discovers the love of her life (Jasper played by Rufus Sewell) is engaged to someone else and the Cameron Diaz character Amanda admits to live-in boyfriend (Edward Burns) of not being able to feel anything or to cry, you know their lives are destined to become intwined. When they decide to swap houses across the ocean at Christmas, the stage is set for chance encounters and romantic fun. From Beverly Hills, California to Surrey, England, the locations are perfect for holiday dreams. Gorgeous Jude Law shows up at the charming English cottage after Amanda arrives and the incomparable Jack Black finds Iris at her vacation swap Hollywood mansion. As each of the characters discovers something delightfully new about themselves, they are swept up with each other, and falling in love. What else could you want in a Christmas movie?? Bring on the eggnog and the Christmas cookies! Indulge!

This was an amazing movie! I will probably watch it again even if the holidays are over. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes movies that leave you feeling good all over.

My wife loves this movie. We had to watch it with commercials on our available streaming services this year, so this will be a stocking stuffer.

The Holiday is a lovely theatrical experience wherein family, love, vulnerability and sheer courage make an indelible impression on viewers. A kind man cries, a generous woman shows vulnerability and strength, a funny guy stops being misused and a powerful woman learns to shed fears and tears. All round a great film and worth the purchase and viewing.

This movie is a great Christmas movie, it’s something my family watches each year on tv so we bought it so we could watch it on our schedule.

I think that "The Holiday" was one of the greatest films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times. Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz were both amazing in this film and I also think that "The Holiday" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable drama and humor including an original and amazing storyline.

The Holiday is a movie that the holiday is the dressing for the romance to move through & can be enjoyably viewed at any time not just Christmas. If you ever were in love or wanted to be in love.....YOU WILL RELATE !!! The musical score was an award winner capturing your ear, right out of the box! Lovely movie...Highly recommend !!!

I watch this with my mom every Christmas season. Happy to have upgraded to blu ray. A great holiday movie.

Very nice Christmas holiday movie to watch. I actually invited family over to watch the move as well and everyone enjoyed it. I would recommend this movie as one of the down to earth moves of the year. It was a happy/sad move, one of those movies that could make you cry but by the end of the movie your happy.

I bought Holiday on Blu-ray for my wife for Christmas and she absolutely loved it. Also, at a fantastic price.

I never see a reason to review the plot. Presumably, anyone purchasing a blu-ray is already familiar with the story. Using a Panasonic 4K player and LG screen, the picture (Vivid mode) on all points is excellent. Speech is clear, understandable (Clear Voice III mode).
