I like Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank - this was a little different but good. Not the ending I expected or one I would foresee. So I liked that too. I want to watch it again, since I have a hard time sitting still at home and tend to walk around doing little things while movies are playing when I am alone

Tommy Lee Jones was born for this part and he plays well against Hillary Swank. Older film lovers might see this as having [much darker and poignant] shades of Rooster Cogburn. Meryl Streep adds a lot in a short amount of screen time.

If you like westerns this might be one of the movies to see, it is not a John Wayne movie it is a melodrama about a homely woman living on the great plains, it is sad at some times but it is a fairly good movie. A must see.

MO. was a tough place to homestead. Hillary Swank and Tommy Lee Jones were outstanding. Hillary is to attractive to be thought as plain jane.

I enjoy a good western movie and this one did not disappoint me. The performances of Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank were excellent in this, sometimes, dark drama.
