This is one of John Wayne's best movies. The picture quality is excellent.

Story based on actual events during the American Civil War. In the West to campaign at Vicksburg DURING 1863 was at a standstill and a 300 mile Calvary Brigade raid on Newton Station was planned – the railroad junction was the point of supply for the Confederate troops at Vicksburg – to relieve the standstill. Filled with lots of Battle Action – the raid and counter-attack at Newton Station, the Battle of the School Boys and the furious Battle of the Bridge on their southerly retrograde. And there is enough hilarious tension between the Wayne, Holden and Constance Towers characters to make the film a memorable view. It’s a great Calvary opera and a “fun” view.

I have always enjoyed this John Wayne/William Holden movie. This is the first time I have been able to watch it on Blu-ray. It seemed a little grainy but still more than pleasurable to watch. This should not prevent anyone from purchasing the movie. It is to be expected from an older movie. The color is excellent. You will enjoy the interaction between Wayne/Holden and actress Constance Towers.

I love this movie. This was the beginning of big time movie deals for both John Wayne and William Holden. The Duke clearly over-shadows Holden, but Holden holds his own. Terrific performance by Constance Towers, too. A must-own for any Duke library.

This is one of my favorite John Wayne movies so when I saw this Blu-ray I had to buy it. This is one of the better movies portraying the Civil War era. Good picture quality and decent sound. I highly recommend it.

Watching John Wayne brings back memories of a simpler time, guess you might say that watching his movies brings me comfort. William Holden is also a favorite actor so the combination of the two is great!

Horse Soldiers, based loosely on actual events, is a John Wayne classic film taking place during the Civil War. The "duke" is at his best in this one. Lots of action----------------and a lot of the "Duke!"

This is one of those John Wayne films the I have never heard of until I found it at best buy and got it. I am a big fan of the Duke. This is not really one of the best John Wayne films, but hey ... its John Wayne

This movie is an all-time classic, have watched this movie many times over the years and had to have it in my collection. It is a must see movie, great acting by all.

The Horse Soldier's is a Civil War era John Wayne film where the Duke stars as a Union soldier trying to take a confederate post in the South. It's a middle of the road picture, not bad, but not great. It's certain not The Conqueror but it's also not The Searchers. Best Buy has released a string of bargain basement priced Wayne Blu-rays for around $5 in stores. (The Barbarian and the Geisha, The Comanchero's etc) so it's worth picking up for the price. If you have a few hours of free time and love John Wayne movies, you'll find it's well worth the price.

Good price of $9.99, but also got a movie reward ticket to see Magnificent Seven remake. Not bad considering star power behind the remake.

A great movie all John Wayne fans will enjoy. At a great bargain price to boot. Plenty of action if you like those old style westerns.

This is really is a underrated John Wayne movie. It also has William Holden in it after he did "The Bride Over the River Kwai"

If your a John Wayne & William Holden fan this is good entertainment. Not a classic in the sense of other John Wayne movies, but worth watching.

What more needs to be said, if it has John Wayne in it and it's on Blu-Ray then it belongs in your collection.

I loved the movie. I love John Wayne westerns and this was a good addition to my collection, especially in blu ray.
