The Best werewolf film of the modern area is DOG SOLDIERS. That being said this film is almost very good. It came out with An American Werewolf in London. That film gets more respect, but I like this more. I do. Werewolf films are a hard sell. Everything depends on the transformation; the effects, etc etc. That is why Dog Soldiers wins. No CGI. I know. I am reviewing THE HOWLING. This is 7.5/10. It is a great Blu-ray Steelbook at a fab price. I recommend it. Avoid Sequels.

Absolutely fantastic transfer of a great cult horror film. I’ve seen some complaints about the soft focus shots but that’s literally they way it was filmed so that’s not an error or quality issue. Hopefully fans would know that.

This horror classic just got the 4K treatment! This is a great Joe Dante movie that gives "An American Werewolf in London" a run for it's money. The practical effects alone are worth the price of admission. Do check out this movie!

I’ve bought every version of this movie since it’s been released on DVD and this one looks the best! The old animation effects that were meant to be viewed in a dark theater look a lot better in this version.

One of best classic werewolf movies. Always liked the older monster movies without much of the cgi effects. It has one of the better transformation scenes first being american werewolf in london.

Classic werewolf movie… and there aren’t too many of those. The film is full of good performances, dark humor and great special effects. Quality audio and video make this a must watch for fans and newcomers alike

Excellent movie, great presentation, this 4K release of The Howling is a must-have for fans of the movie, as well as those who appreciate the art of classic horror filmmaking.

I love The Howling!! One my all time favorite werewolves movies and it's my top 10 most favorite horror movies of 1981!! Love the practical FX done by Rob Bottin!!

Now this is how to do a 4K collector's edition! The remastering of the movie is fantastic, and the disc is loaded with bonus content. Absolutely a must for fans of this classic horror film.

Excellent remaster of this classic werewolf flick from director Joe Danté! Highly recommended! Lots of great archival features, and an easy upgrade from the previous Scream Factory release.

I'm not a huge fan of this movie. I've always preferred the masterpiece that is An American Werewolf in London. But I couldn't help but pick up this Shout Factory Steelbook if for no other reason than the artwork. It doesn't really hold a candle to their Army Of Darkness release but it's beautiful none the less. If you're a Steelbook collector or if you like movies about werewolves in California then you should definitely pick this up.

Werewolves are one of the best horror creatures out there and the howling and American werewolf in London are the best! Glad to own both in 4K now.

Very nice! Have yet to view the 4K transfer but the bluray transfer is very well done. If you already own the ScreamFactory bluray you dont need to purchase. But other than that gey this 4K!

One of the best werewolf movies ever made. Anybody who enjoys 70's horror will enjoy this movie. It stars Dee Wallace, one of the original scream queens. The transfer is also very good. Picture quality is a big step up from DVD or VHS.

4K transfer was exceptional. Major upgrade from my DVD copy. 1981 cult favorite that still holds up today. A must for any horror fan. Plenty of extras on disc 2 (bluray)

This is a really good movie I actually wasn’t even looking for it when I was inside bestbuy but I saw it next to a movie I was getting so I grabbed it to. I like that it comes inside a Steelbook but a sticker on the front said only 10,000 manufactured so I would get it if you can.

A classic that got a 4K upgrade and did this film justice. It looks and sounds amazing if your a fan of old school horror or werewolf movies this one has to be in your collection

A classic werewolf movie comes home to 4k, decent 4k transfer and the soundtrack is great as well, offering the original mono track is a nice touch but also offers a 5 channel output too. It's a cult classic but if you've seen it, it's definitely worth picking up in this 4k transfer.

Shout Factory comes for the win with this release. The company can be a little expensive but if it is 4k releases with the right disc, it is worth it. This one is a win in my book.

An earlier Joe Dante movie it has its flaws but it's still provides solid entertainment I wish the steelbook had a booklet or something inside though it's just empty but it's all good (just a word of advice don't throw acid in a werewolf's face that's not gonna stop it)
