    Charles Laughton is excellent as the Hunchback in Victor Hugo’s epic story. For a film made in 1939 the Picture quality is amazing! I would still recommend reading the book. But, I highly recommend this Blu-ray film.

    Outstanding cast and story line regarding the power of the church and how it was used for and against the common people.

    this 1939 version of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ is an outstanding film, and the best of the screen incarnations of this tale. Worthy of every bit of dvd treatment it has received here. Highest recommendation.
