Warner Archive has gotten around to giving one of my favorite vampire films a fresh 2K transfer that shimmers with style and captures the gothic '80's allure of the late Tony Scott's masterful filmmaking. David Bowie while not onscreen as much as the boxart would want you to believe brings all his handsome looks and devilish charm to the screen as the doomed lover of Catherine Deneuves' black widow of a vampire Miriam who's set her sights on a replacement lover, Susan's Surandon's Dr. Sarah Roberts. Not much in the way of special features sadly as I would have loved to hear from Bowie about how he got involved in this film and his current thoughts on it. Still, a great Blu-ray for a film I recommend for the less prudish and seeking a more art-house styled vampire film.

If you don't like vampire films or themes, it may not be for you. With David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve, and Susan Saradon. I'd have called this a sleeper for years, but with releases on DVD and Blu-ray, here we are and it has aged very well to say least. Thanks to BestBuy for stocking this and delivering a Brand New copy (undamaged) to my door.

Saw this in the theaters and thought it was just okay. Bought the disk and now, after seeing it again, I think it's one of the best and most unique vampire move ever made. Watch the first 10 minutes, if that doesn't affect you, turn it off.

One of the best, original & unique Vampire movies ever made. Based on Whitley Strieber's book which I also recommend reading. Directed by Tony Scott with his usual flash & flair. Great cast & beautifully shot scenes. Bloody & scary not for kids or the squeamish but highly recommended as an "adult" vampire story.

I vaguely remembered seeing this years ago and thought it was good then. I can't say that it's a fabulous film but it is an interesting tale that, at the time it was made, had a different twist to the typical vampire story. I enjoyed David Bowie in this. It seemed a bit campy but I think that's because its 20+ years old now. Place it in the oldies-but-goodies column and enjoy it for what it is.

Beautiful photography work of the original film has transferred great to this Blu-ray! Just to see Catherine Denuve and Suzan Sarandon is already worth to purchase this disc! The film simply is gorgeous!

Love this movie! Have a copy on VHS but this looks so much better. Bowie was great in the role. A twist on vampires.
