I truly loved the movie - but the knowledge I gained from reading the books first gave me the clarity required to really enjoy and understand the movie.

If you read the books you know the story. Watch the movie and some of the stuff you read is destroyed in the first 30 mins... I know it makes it easier to understand, but give people credit on their intelligence!

If you watched the previous movies, you have to finish the series. I got the books as a gift, and that lead me to watching the movies. This was a very good movie with which to end the series. It really helped to read the books first. I suspect a lot of things would not make sense, or you might not fully appreciate the significance of many scenes, if you didn't read the books first. On it's own, it's not so great, but as part of the series, it gets high marks. I would only recommend it to someone already very familiar with the Hunger Games series.

It Seems like this movie could really happen in about Ten Years From Now.

There movies had something for everyone, my dad, mom, sisters, all love this movie, and it's something everyone can enjoy together in a time where movies are being made for more niche audiences.

A dysfunctional society has youth combat for sport. This reminds me of the Arnold Schwarznegger movie The Running Man.

I love this movie! The books and the movie works so well together, I can't wait for the next one!!

After seeing Mockingjay part 1 in theaters i have become a new fan of the movies. I am not a big book reader so i wont read those.

Though i love the movie. The steelbook is great. The colors really look great and a great addition to steelbook collectors.

I read all the books. Obviously books have much more detail then movies but this was pretty well done. Jennifer Lawrence is awesome.

Great movie but first copy of the blu ray would pause and skip and then again on the exchange. Finally got a good copy on the 3rd try.

Loved this movie. Not as good as the book because the movie was too short to have all the background to what was really going on.

Overall a solid movie that I am glad to own but you lose the enthralling nature of the story when you encounter one of the cheesy sequences. I.e. Sleeping around the tree portion.

this is the first of the series for the hunger games movies. It follows the books pretty well and the characters are well developed. I can watch this anytime.

My daughter had read all the books and said it did a good job getting the flavor of the book. She thoroughly enjoyed it.

First one in the series, with a lot of stories coming after. Love Jennifer and her portrait of Katniss

Thought this was going to another teen blah, blah, blah but it's really good.

i loved the movie, but after reading the book, i loved the book even more!! i can't wait for the other three movies!
