Every movie adaptation of a book leaves something to be desired, but "Catching Fire" did it's best to bring Suzanne Collins' universe to life. The movie was really well written and adapted. It's a great action/adventure film to watch if you're into that type of movie. And the steelbook is really well made and complemented by the steelbook for "Hunger Games". They both have a Mockingjay symbol on the back that represents the series and the films themselves.

I love the Hunger Games series. It's full of action, romance, and post-apocalyptic politics. The films have great acting, perfect casting, and wonderful visual effects. They skip over the non-essential bits and the movie makes great pace in order to keep your attention and thoroughly entertain you, but the problem is: nothing actually happens in this movie! Without ruining the plot, you could almost skip this movie, read a single paragraph online, and begin again with the third installment when it comes out. That being said, if you want to watch a fun movie that's just a treat to see, see The Hunger Games Catching Fire. Just don't expect to learn a whole lot in terms of plot development.

The story of two people chosen to compete in games for the survival of their district. It shows the different ways they are being pulled to satisfy their community, but also the main governing state. Showing some defiance, Katniss has sparked a rebellion among the other districts. Her actions cause President Snow to create,"75th Hunger Games." It consists of drama, suspense, romance, action, and adventure. All the great qualities top a excellent movie!

This steelbook was a no-brainer since it was the same price as the Blu-ray/DVD combo (this only came with the blu-ray) but it came with an $8 coupon towards a Divergent movie ticket. Since we're planning to see that, this was a great deal. I've also really gotten on board with the Ultraviolet digital copies. I have about 50 on my account now, and it makes watching them from other locations so easy! If you liked the books, I think you'll love the movies.

The Movie was great!! I enjoyed it thoroughly; however I had to sever the connection with the book about half way through because they had removed so much. It still got the main concepts just less details. Which is why I prefer the book. Although on its own it is a great work of action and drama, and a great story that parallels the book fairly well. Really getting into the characters and cant wait for Mockingjay part 1 and 2. Should be a great series.

This is a story about overcoming adversity and tyrannical rule that foces good people into an oippressive, self-centered society. The good people rise up to defend themselves. They triumph over the oppressors and live to challenge the status quo. The technical components of the DVD are pehnomenal. It plays well on my flatscreen without any dissolution of color or sound. Even though it is a DV and I play it through a Blue Ray player. Thre are no issues.

I read all the books, saw the first two movies and now can't wait to see the next two! The movies do follow the books pretty well, but there were a few things left out...not that the movies lose the storyline at all, just thought they were kind of important. I will seeing all the movies in the theaters and buying all the movies for my own collection regardless, because I think they are very well done, well acted, and again can't wait for the next two!!

Great adaptation. Outstanding performances by all the actors. I had read the entire series prior to even seeing the first film. While the first film shows the intial glitz and shine that Katniss sees when she first leaves District 12- this film rightly captures the horrible situation that Katniss and Peeta find themselves in after winning the game. The film is actually very emotional if you care about the characters and because of the terrific actors.

Let me start out, it is a steelbook, so all of the collectors will want that, it comes with vudu code so you can watch it online anywhere, and was an awesome movie. I won't spoil anything, but if you are a fan of the books and/or the movies this one was great, my daughters loved it and so did I and we can't wait for the next two movies. I would say this one is a bit better then the first, and the ending, ugh, leaves you yearning for the finals ones.

The books were an good read at least in my opinion; yet not the greatest. I enjoyed them for a past time read but was not really eager to read them until a friend had the set and suggested i give them a try. I did and enjoyed them slightly. The films are very truthful to the books and the girl whom plays catness is great. The filming is done really well with scenes that grip you with amazing background content. The movie lacks the fine actors it should have and has some i think are far too fine and makes the rest of the cast look weak. Looking back the film is good especially as sequels go and i will see the third (both parts) as i enjoyed enough to finish the story.

Both the 1st and this movie are faithful to the books. Love the actors, especially Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland. This is the middle of the trilogy, and the movie doesn't have a typical ending; it just stops, leaving you waiting for more action - which will come in the future 3rd movie. This is not a stand-alone movie, but is a very well done middle part of a bigger story. Can't wait for the next installment.

The late PSH gives an outstanding performance as the new gamemaker and the overall cast allows you to start asking what would you do in this situation? Would you allow things to remain as is and keep sending people to the slaughter? Or would you rise to the occassion and start fighting for something that could change everything? The human element is explored in more detail allowing the viewer to place themselves in the tributes shoes.

I haven't read the books so I don't know about the second half of Mockingjay, but out of the three movies that have been released so far this is easily the best. This time there is an 'all-star' Hunger Games, bringing in winners from the previous games. All the stars from the first movie return and provide even better performances. If you've seen the first movie and found it even mildly entertaining you have to see this one.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was even better than the first one. I would definitely recommend this to your friends and acquaintances. The movie was fast paced all the way through and held my interest. I didn't think they could do any better in the sequel, but to my surprise it exceeded the first one. I'm looking forward to the next installment. My wife read all the books and gave me a preview of what's next. Great movie!

The Hunger Games Catching Fire was a truly brilliant film adaption. In my own opinion it was the best of the books and the film adaption surpassed my expectations. Generally film adaptions veer away from the story but not this one. The accuracy to the book was impeccable. They were able to transfer the heart wrenching and exhilarating moments perfectly. It was also a great platform to see the wonderful performance skills of the cast.

In my opinion, the second film of the Hunger Games series is a little more confusing than the first. I have never read the books but I was able to understand the first film a lot more easily. Catching Fire is still a great movie regardless. I love Peeta and Katniss' relationship, however confusing it is. Who does she have feelings for?? I love the character development in this movie and the fact that Gale plays a bigger role in it.

Since this is the second movie in the franchise you would have thought the movie would begin without a ton of character references and building storyline but it did and it was borring, slow and uninteresting. Maybe if I read the books I would have liked it. But I got bored and started doing other stuff until the action scenes started about a third through the movie. At that point the movie gets interesting and keeps ones attention and ends in a pretty good climax. Too bad they had to string out the beginning and lose a star. If I could have given 3 1/2 stars I would have. I want to see the next installment which is why I gave it four instead of 3 stars.

Maybe I'm not trying hard enough to understand these movies? The fact of the matter is, they're written for pre-teens, and I have no idea what the hell is going on half the time, so I annoy the hell out of my fiancee with constant questions, and snorts of derision. I feel kinda bad about it at times, but then I just kind of have to sit back and say 'If she didn't want me asking tons of questions, she wouldn't have invited me to watch it. That being said, these movies are gorgeous, and somewhat interesting. I could do with a bit more in terms of attempting to mature them up (written for preteen girls) but hey, I don't make the economy go 'round.

When I took my family to see the Hunger Games a few years ago I left the theater wanting more. I could't wait for the next installment. I thought it was a great movie so of course the second installment let me down a little but I can't wait for the 3rd installment. I love the cast and the action. Donald Sutherland is a creepy leader/villain. I did not read the book but I just know in the end, he'll get what's coming to him.

Initially through the first half of the movie I was honestly disappointed both by the pace of the plot and the tone. But as it moves along past midway the pace picks up and I began to see a plot twist or at least guess that the inevitable twist was coming. And it sure did. And the end, well you'll have to invest the time in the movie to appreciate it. If you liked the first on then "Catching Fire" will catch you by surprise.
