    Good movie, but not great

I'm rating the product here, and there were no problems with the Bluray disc. If I'm reviewing the film, it's good, but not great. I really enjoy the Hunger Games films, but this like Harry Potter and Twilight suffers from the same problem: splitting the movie into two books defies basic storytelling elements. In a book, the climax comes just before the end, which means the climax of this film (no spoilers) isn't very exciting because it's the middle of the book.

I like that best buy provided a steelcase for the movie which is a plus. The movie however, begins a little slow. There are numerous conversations going on about the battle, what to do next, do we rebel etc. Everything begins to slowly fall in place mid way through the movie after visiting a fallen district with hundred of injured civilians. Their courage is brought to life and are one with the mockingjay. The ending to the film, leaves you excited and a little upset.

It is not very often my husband and I sit down at a movie together and we both enjoy it, but this one did it! He loved the mastermind work of it, the suspense and felt it was well built up. As a book reader going to movie, I have to say that this was probably about as accurate to book as I can remember without being too tacky. They did add a bit of drama, but not enough to overshadow anything. If you enjoyed the first two Hunger Games, this one will not disappoint.

We always go to best buy because of the quality and reliability of having items in stock. This movie was no different! The quality and sound were amazing! This movie has all the action and eye catching plots that makes us beg for more. Best movie trilogy so far! ! We can't wait for the next one. I also loved the hard case the movie came in and i love that best buy offers the multiple disc packs ! Blu Ray is for the house, DVD for the car and digital for on the go!

Glad we bought the movie. Although the tone of the movie is a little different than the other two, it carried the overall story to the next level quite well. It is a little violent, but the other two were as well. The difference seemed to be that the violence was on a much more massive scale. We are waiting for the next episode at which time, we will take a snowy day and watch them one after the other. It will be interesting to see how well they actually flow.

Another great sequel to The Hunger Games

Usual when a series gets to the third sequel, it has lost it's fizz. Not true for The Hunger Games. I am a big fan of the books and wasn't expecting this one to hold up as well as the other 2 movies. So happy that I was wrong. Mockingjay Part I kept me at the edge of my seat and left me wanting more. So looking forward to Mockingjay Part II! I also have to say that I really LOVE the packing of this Blu-Ray with the steel book. I wish my other movies had this.

    Hunger Games Part 3

Nothing unexpected with this blu-ray. The bonus features are pretty standard fare in line with the previous two releases. This is the standard packaging release. No fancy steelbook or special edition case (ex. Hunger Games Target blu-ray set). If you aren't a super mega Hunger Games fan that is collecting each steelbook release of the films, this is all you need. It's the film, bonus features and a Ultraviolet copy at a more than fair price.

This the third of the saga Hunger Games. Totally aligned to the exciting, tense, and thrilled style of the series. I had to say that you need to see the previous to actually live the feelings of the main characters. The third had lot of action but it has also the transformation of the suffered heroine into someone that actually foresees leadership to their fellows. And pictures one f the best and strong humans emotions: hope. Great movie. It's a must see.

The movie continues the saga of Katniss Everdeen and the movies live up well to the book and perhaps better in the case of the third book. Jennifer Lawrence gives a compelling performance as does the rest of the cast. The video is well done and the Ultraviolet copy lets me share with others in my family. Sadly this is the last performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Supposedly he was electronically dubbed into some scenes, but I really could not tell where.

I know it.You know it. The moment they announced there were going to be a part I and part II you knew that there was going to come a point in time that you were going to have to purchase this movie for your home collection because you're ensnared with this movie series and you want to have the liberty to toss this in and watch whenever the urge calls. It's a good movie. It's not the best of the series... but you need to -- and will -- own it.

    Good Movie, Great Package

It is difficult to review a product like this because most of the experience is more the movie than the physcial product itself. On this point, Mockingjay Part 1 is probably the best of the 3 Hunger Games movies to date. What's more relevant is why you would buy this movie from Best Buy, and for me, the release week price and the exclusive Steelbook are reason enough why Best Buy gave a little something extra that adds to the value of buying this movie.

As expected, when Lionsgate split the final book into two fills there was going to be some noted additional material and changes. The film adds Effie as a present figure in District 13. We experience the rescue mission in more detail. I was not disappointed in these choices. The film is very strong and holds well with the franchise. My slight complaint is that Finnick is a bit marginalized here vs. his presence in the book. But again a very strong film.

Actually, I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. Clearly better than average. I rated the the 1st installment 5 stars and the 2nd 4 stars. Something about the dynamic of the movie being too drawn out for me and then no actual climax of any kind. I know, it is difficult with some stories to write a screenplay that can be one long movie so Part One and Part Two are needed. I believe Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows did a terrific job with this division into two parts but not so much for this one. I truly wish others liked it more than I did.

Don't expect any major plot resolutions here... SPOILER ALERT: they're holding everything back for Part 2! Who could see that coming?!? GOOD-- Better story, more Gale, less Peeta, Effie without her makeup and fancy clothes (hilarious!), less teenagers killing other teenagers (always a sore point for me)... BAD-- very much less *action* than the trailers would lead one to expect, it's nearly all there in the trailers. Fans will want to see it... there's not much here for casual observers until both Part 1 and Part 2 can be seen together.

Based on the first half of the last book of the Hunger Games Series (The Mockingjay). Jennifer Lawrence once again stars at Katniss Everdeen "The Girl On Fire", who must take on the position as the leader/inspiration of a rebellion against the oppressive Capital, which is run by the tyrannical, President Snow (Donald Southerland). Witness the districts begin to unite for the first part of an epic showdown between oppressed and oppressor.

The best looking 4K version of the series

This movie and Part 2 was the better looking film in 4K, although they all look awesome. Looks really good in 4K the dark/night scenes are easier to see due to the blacker colors with HDR. My wife watches these movies alot so I wanted to give her an upgrade from her blurays. Too bad they do not come in the SteelBook cases.

    * The Blu Ry itself was well done. The menus an bonuses were about waht one would expect for this type of release *The "steelbook" case is similar to other BB exclusive steelboxes and adds a nice effect to the firebird/mockingjay emblem. *The movie itself was surprisingly entertaining. This entry to the series has the same level of visual polish and FX that are common to the series. Despite being only half of my least favorite of the books, I was still able to remain engaged and entertained for the majority of the movie

    A much Darker movie

This movie is much Darker than the previous two. It is Darker, both in terms of lighting on the sets, but also in terms of the plot. The acting seemed to be less fulfilling as the previous two movies. The Blu-Ray disk comes Dolby Atmos format for the audio portion. I have an older Home Theater system which did not support the Atmos format. As a result, I could not enjoy Surround Sound. I did a work around and changed my Audio output on my Blu-Ray player to "Bitstream." Once I did that, I could enjoy Surround Sound.

The movie is good Acting is great Basically a set up for the next movie Don’t expect too much though this is just a filler movie to make extra $$$ and add more to the story line. Adds a nice part not explained well in the books. The Steel case looks fantastic. More movies should come like this. but not worth an extra price. Opening day it was same price as Bluray 19.99. DVD works and Ultraviolet Digital Copy can be used with itunes. It is a good movie but replay value is low until just before part2 is released.

So now that the audience has determined that Katniss can not make up her mind on which boy to kiss first, we can focus on the good stuff. How to get back at Pres. Snow. Revelations ! the why and what become ever more clearer, meanwhile Katniss and Mini-Thor unite in the absence of Peeta (Really... Peter was taken ?) and are ready to kick some Capital Booty. Awesome trains have been replaced by awsesomer (???) flying machines.
