    Video Review

Overall, the 4K presentation offers several appreciable improvements, displaying a quality in definition and resolution. Contrast is noticeably brighter, more radiant whites throughout, and excellently brilliant specular highlights are a high point of the whole presentation, providing a realistic glimmer and shine to metallic surfaces. Black levels are gorgeously rich and inky, supplying the 2.35:1 image with silky background The movie has always been a particularly colorful and beautiful picture on DVD and Blu-ray thanks to the photography of Peter Menzies Jr. Extreme wide shots of the various locations gives a lovely picturesque feel The fire from explosions burns with a more intensely glowing, reddish-orange while still showing the tiniest detail within the plume and the individual flames lapping at the air. In general, just slightly above average 2160p video transfer.

Fantastic audio upgrade … visuals not so much

Universal does a decent job in upgrading this fantastic 2008 Hulk movie to the 4K medium. In terms of visual, there are some decent resolution bumps in various key scenes in the movie ( e.g., battle on the university campus ) but some scenes look almost identical to the previous blu-ray release. In terms of audio, Universal delivers a superb DTS-X track that brings a lot of bass and low frequency subwoofer punch throughout the movie. In some scenes, use of ceiling or upfiring speaker is used effectively ( e.g., helicopters flying overhead ) and when items are thrown the scene, the sounds travels across the speakers immersing the viewer into the movie. But this for the audio upgrade ( moreso than the visual upgrade )

    HULK - Good

With the second iteration of the big green guy, Universal and Marvel get it better than the last outing. Edward Norton appears to be an interesting fit, but nowhere near as charismatic and fun as Mark Ruffalo who later became the staple for Bruce Banner/Hulk. Also, on board are the beautiful Liv Tyler and the perfect General "Thunderbolt" Ross, William Hurt. Director Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me) and writer Zak Penn (The Avengers, and upcoming Ready Player One) give us a Hulk we are far more familiar with rather than the clunky version delivered by director Ang Lee and his team of writers. Production is also far more interesting as much as the monster Hulk faces off with. Still, it does not quite match the quality of the Marvel productions of today. This steelbook is still a handsome collectible. The Blu delivers best picture yet. And, sound is a thunderous DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. A bevy of extras including an animated comic and an alternate opening make this one worth purchasing for the Marvel collector especially at the low price for under $10.

Great version of a good movie

While this isn't one of my all time favorite Marvel movies, it is a good movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As far as UHD quality it is the best home release of this movie to date. The unfortunate part is that like many UHD movies today it rests on a 2K release that doesn't offer a lot over the bluray release also included. It is sharper and offers HDR but is only half of the resolution it could offer for a full 4K UHD experience. It does also offer a great DTS:X audio track that is well worth the cost in my opinion. All around if you are a fan of the film or the franchise and decide to rebuy you'll probably enjoy this release but keep your expectations in check.

When I heard that there was going to be another Hulk movie I was excited and eagerly awaiting it with anticipation. But when I saw they hadn't given the role of the movie to some who'd bring a certain amount of verve to character I was disappointed to say the least. Though I think Edward Norton is a good actor I wasn't impressed with seeing him trying to fill the void that Bill Bixby left behind. In short I must say Thank You MCU for casting Mark Gruffalo as Bruce Banner Aka The Hulk moving forward. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed this version of it but it never ceases to amaze me how casting directors don't put much effort into getting the right person to compliment the film's leading character's. Thank goodness for the supporting cast. For without it this would've surely been more of miss than a hit.

It’s not the best MCU movie, but it is still quite entertaining. The 4K blu-ray adds a lot of contrast to the picture which really makes use of the HDR. Unfortunately, this also causes a bit of black crush in darker areas. It doesn’t ruin it, thankfully, and it still looks overall better than the standard blu-ray. Audio is a definite upgrade to DTS-X and it is very aggressive. There’s not a ton of activity in the height channels but it does make use of them when the on-screen action calls for it. At the current price, it’s a worthy purchase, especially for MCU fans.

The Incredible Hulk may be one of the weaker movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but it is also a fun one. The transfer to 4K is a nice one offering a 2160p/HDR-enhanced transfer. The HDR-10 colors create an added dynamic to the presentation. The Incredible Hulk's incredible DTS:X Master Audio soundtrack is provided which is rock solid and worth the upgrade from Blu-Ray. All previous extras on the Blu-Ray have been ported over. The film also comes with a code for the digital copy.

Love this hulk. The graphics were amazing and the hulk ( Edward Norton ) was more interesting then Mark Raffalo. I like Mike too. But this “unofficial part of the marvel franchise “ was better hulk then the one they got one. The movie was beautiful. Loved the Stan Lee Cameo. The original hulk (Lou Ferrigno) I watch this film at least twice a month. Graphics are sick. Abomination he was perfect in this film.

This is the best version of the Incredible Hulk thus far. Movie is action packed and the director definitely put the Hulk’s power on display. Edward Norton was the perfect Bruce Banner. If you love Marvel then you will love this film.

One of the "better' MCU movies

Granted, this was Universal Studios and in the infancy of the MCU and not even as we know it, but the movie had so much potential and amazing star power that I'm honestly shocked this didn't do better. Hulk finally had a decent villain and not a giant poodle... Norton's turn as the beleaguered Bruce Banner was better than the bland portrayal we got from Mark Ruffalo that felt more like a harkening back to a 90s rendition of what could have been... All in all, I was even looking forward to where the movie could have gone had they stayed he course with the ending of the movie potentially leading into one of the biggest encounters in comic book history.

Edward Norton as a Marvel superhero sounded too good to be true but it did happen in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. It was the only time he suited up as the Green monster before Mark Ruffalo replaced him four years later. Grab your chance to watch character-actor Norton play an unexpected role in its CGI-heavy glory. Universal does a stellar job on the 4K edition of the film.

The is really nice. The matte finish, at least for me, suits it very well. It doesn't have the movie title on the front of the steelbook, just the spine, but the big pic of The Incredible Hulk really says it all. The overall steelbook is about a medium. It's not cheap material, but have seen better material used on other steelbooks. For the price and with a 4K disc, it's a great deal for anyone looking to add to their steelbook collection or upgrade their existing BD to 4K.

Although not considered one of Marvel's best movies, I really enjoyed it. Marvel has come a long way, and this was one that started it all. I bought it because I own all the rest and wanted to have them all. I truly did enjoy it! Again, comparing it to other MCU movies isn't quite fair, as the MCU has developed beyond most people's wildest dreams. It is definitely worth the watch!

Really bought this for the digital code, it was cheaper with the 4K disc than buying on Vudu. Definitely curious what the more recent Marvel movies would have been like if he was still Hulk...

Edward Norton was a great Hulk. I wish Marvel could have worked out a way to get him to stay and continue his role. I bet he does too as he would have been filthy rich with the amount of money the MCU brings in! This film is enjoyable. As far as the 4K upgrade, even though this is not "true 4K', and is an upscale of a 2K DPI, there is still a difference of quality that is very noticeable in the picture detail. Also the sound has been upgraded. If you can get this good popcorn flick on sale during the holidays like I have, it's very recommended!

Even the Marvel movies that aren’t the best are still better than most. This was one of the first ones and suffers a little bit from that fact. But it really is a fine movie and rewatchable. Edward Norton is one of the best actors of the generation with a long list of memorable roles. This ain’t one of them, but he still brings it. Steelbook is awesome and if you need it fir your collection like me, then we all know you’re in for one.

This movie is a lot of fun. I liked the look of this hulk compared to the Ang Lee one and he gets to fight something just as strong as him , which is also good. Edward Norton's performance was well done. Most of the special effects were rendered nicely, although there are some softness here and there. The picture quality on this disc is generally really good with HDR and wider color making things pop a bit more. The sound is tremedous and demo worthy if you have a good home theatre audio system setup. Overall, a fun movie that's awesome in the AV department.

For those that are unaware! The Incredible Hulk started it all in the Avengers universe! Although it was Edward Norton in the lead role and not Mark Ruffalo whom I believe is the better role of the two obviously! But this movie laid the ground for things to come in the Avengers world. This movie has a great storyline and excellent special effects and must be included any Avengers/Marvel collection as the original start to the series even before Ironman! I highly recommend this movie to every Marvel fan!

I recently purchased a New Samsung Q90T 65" (2020) Q-LED TV and matching Q950T Samsung Soundbar and 4K UHD Blu-ray Player and wanted to purchase a few really good 4K UHD Movies to show off the picture and ATMOS surround audio. This DVD does not disappoint. Great movie with plenty of action scenes with very good Surround sound. And I got it on sale! Better than going to the Movies, especially now since COVID-19.
