I purchased this movie for my mum for one of her many christmas gifts. She watched the movie & she loved it. It was on sale during Black Friday must buy for anyone who loves great films & acting.

My husband and I both loved this movie. He said it moved him more than any other movie has in a long time. We will definitely watch again and have been recommending it to our friends. Great purchase.

The story itself is fairly clichéd. A lawyer (Robert Downey Jr) in the middle of a messy separation returns home for his mother's funeral. His estranged father (Robert Duvall) doesn't want anything to do with him. He rekindles romance with an old flame (Vera Farmiga). It's the performances though that make it engaging and stop it from potentially being just another straight to DVD release. The film is beautifully directed by David Dobkin. Downey Jr and Duvall are both excellent. Their scenes are strong and emotional. I also loved Vincent D'Onofrio and Jeremy Strong (as Downey Jr's older and younger brothers respectively). They are terrific. Farmiga, Dax Shepard and Billy Bob Thornton are all great, but I felt they were somewhat underused.

I was reluctant to see this movie, but the story line was awesome! The main characters and supporting cast was great! Well written and great acting...Robert Downey was great with his witty lines!

Ok this movie should have been rated the best movie of the year. The story is gripping, the characters are very relatable, and the emotional element is defining. By far the best movie of 2014

this movie had a good story and excellent acting throughout and did not slowdown at all. some profanity in context and had some pleasing surprises. Any adult of serious drama should see this.

My wife & I saw this movie when it came out in the theaters. We enjoyed the movie so much we decided to purchase it for our home movie collection. Great plot, great acting, very realistic !!

Any movie that includes Robert Duvall in its cast almost has to be good, but a movie that not only includes Robert Duvall but also Robert Downey, Jr. can't miss. Although the plot is somewhat predictable, watching these two great actors together is a real treat!

This was my favorite film of 2014 so obviously i couldn't wait for it to come out on blu ray. I must say the picture quality looked just as good as the movie theatre digital presentation.

Within the first 24 hours I watched this movie 3 1/2 times. This movie had a lot of suspense and twists that you may or may not have seen coming. Downey, Jr and Duvall did an amazing job!

Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall delivered one of their finest performances. The subject matter of the film is one that I think we all can relate to on some level.. Great film.

I saw this film knowing there would be excellent performances by brilliant actors... I was not disappointed! It was not action packed it was thoughtful and I enjoyed it very much.

The chemistry between Robert Downey Jr and Robert Duval is great. Story isn't the best, but it holds up pretty well.. something to watch if you can't find anything else to watch..

This was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Duval is one of my favorite actors and Robert Downey Jr. was excellent. I found myself just waiting for the next scene.

Seriously, this is a really great film and I should have got it blueray for all the extra features. Watch it yourself and see some awesome performances of Duvall and Downey Jr.

Great movie, it makes you realize life is too short. Great actors, this movie is sad but has a lot of truth about relationships, you should always try to forgive and forget.

This was a very enjoyable movie to watch. It was everything I had hoped it would be after watching the previews, and even went further and had me tearing up at the end.

Robert Downey was as usual, absolutely "brilliantt". I was attentive throughout whereas, I normally would fall asleep and need at least a week to finish a really good movie.
