Kind of slow, bad dialog, bad music selecrion. Go watch the remake.

I love horror movies and I always heard great things about The Last House on the Left so I bought it believing the hype. I just don't get where all the love for the film comes from. The characters are flat and poorly written only to be outdone by the lazily written plot.

not a very good movie very R rated and not for children at all

I picked this film up thinking it was one that I had seen once before but it wasn't this was such trash I wouldn't even waste anybody else's money picking it up stay away from it don't buy it run LOL

This movie needs an emergency make over, the acting is so bad and the setting of the accounts poorly chosen that the directors direction of the film made me leave it on a strangers car windshield on Christmas eve.

This is worst movie ever, it is so tame and stupid. Looks like 3 college flunkies made it for 10 bucks. If you want quality and gore watch Evil Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Made the mistake of thinking this was the newer one instead of the original version. Not that great of a movie.

Lets be honest, if you're buying this movie on blu-ray you already know what to expect. Some bad acting, awkward comedic scenes, graphic violence. It's old, it's beat up, it's extremely low budget, as another review pointed out yes there is an abundance of grain and things of that nature. Thank god for it, there's no DNR or anything like that added to the film, you're seeing it the way it was meant to be seen. But keep in mind this is an old movie, this certainly isn't demo quality, not something you'd want to pull out to impress your friends with your high-def setup. If you're like me, and you own the 2002 dvd release, this is definitely a worthy upgrade for the extra features alone. (2 commentaries, multiple featurettes, deleted scene, etc.) The film also has a better (not by much mind you) transfer. Last House on the Left is a great exploitation film that "inspired" films like House at the Edge of the Park, Last House on Dead End Street, etc. David Hess does wonderful in his role and did a great job on the music in the film. Just do some research and know what you're getting into before you blind buy a film like this. For the price, this is a great deal, my one and only complaint is that the blu-ray doesn't have a menu, everything is only accessible through the pop-up menu when the film is on.

The Last House on the Left shocked audiences when it first came out in 1972 and continues to do just that. It tells the story of two teenage girls kidnaped by a group of deranged individuals and murdered. The killers take shelter at one of the girls' homes, unknowingly. The parents soon find out and thus begins act 2 of this shockingly brutal and unforgiving terror classic. It is not quite horror but not quite suspense-thriller either but more of a blend of genres. The moral to this story is very obvious, "Do onto others as you would have done to you. It is loaded with special features including all new interviews. It is the Unrated Special Edition and was released prior to the theatrical release of the 2009 remake. Parents are strongly CAUTIONED, this contains material not appropriate for childern under 16-17 years of age (in my opinion)."

Good to find an old school classic updated on blu ray. Brutal film that is not for the faint of heart so brace yourself!

A little slow at the beginning but soooo much better than the original, even with the ending being changed. Makes you think about what you would do in that situation. Would you really let people who SAY they are stranded stay in your house overnight? Twisted.

This is a very Dirty horror movie .. Not for kids. Not for most people......

This movie was so bad I can hardly put it into words. It not a classic! I am a horror movie fan and this is garbage! If you do buy it please return to this site and just say "you were right." because 15 minutes in and you are wondering "why am I watching this?" You never get the 15 minutes or how ever long you can watch this nonsense- back ... It's gone and that is truly scary!

This movie was just bad..The remake was totally better, The blu ray quality was real poor...Hairs, dust, damaged print 90% of the film fuzzy and out of focus,,,just plain bad, but then MGM has a reputation for poor quality blu releases..If you have the dvd, its not worth the upgrade,,,
