Naughty Dog strikes again! The storytelling is superb, and the graphics are absolutely ridiculous. Some fun new mechanics from the first game, laid nicely atop everything we loved about it. More jump-scares than the first game, generally well placed and executed. The environments are beautiful, and much more expansive than the first game. All in all, whether everyone agrees with the choices the writers made or not, this game is excellent, just excellent.

Faces, hair, clothes, foliage, blood and gore, weapons and guitars are all rendered in beautiful detail. The stealth encounters are large and varied environments stuffed with dangerous enemies. The killing animations are graphic and brutal. Knives, guns, bows, bare hands, and crafted explosives will destroy anything in your path. Some minor environmental puzzles and a whole lot of resource scavenging round out the simple but effective post apocalyptic gameplay. These parts of the game are a big improvement over Part I. Unfortunately the story in Part II is much, much worse. The writers try very hard to make the audience sympathize with the new main character Abby, but it just doesn't work. The game spends too much time on unrelated side quests and really drags during the second half. Ellie sits out the two best boss fights in the game. Joel is not even a playable character. On top of all that the ending is a big disappointment and makes the entire journey feel like a waste of time. Hopefully in 7 years when Part III is released during the final year of the PS5, the story will be as high quality as the action.

The game is absolutely amazing. The first one is my all time favorite game of all time and I was on the fence about a new addition to the game as I didn’t want my favorite game to be impacted in any way. With that said I went in with an open mind and the emotions I felt were insane. The game has flaws but it is an absolute amazing experience that one must play on their own. I’m still absolutely in amazement and I cant wait to play again.

There are so many bad faith reviews of this game. The truth is that it's probably one of the last masterpieces we'll see this generation from one of the best developers. Gameplay, graphics, and yes the story are all incredible. Is it a fun game? Not really, but few a 'good' film or book doesn't have to be fun either. The Last of Us Part II proves that games can be on par with those experiences in ways its predecessor never dreamed.

I can't think of another video game that has had such a massive impact on me. Preferably, this should be played after completing the original Last of Us and its DLC, but otherwise with as little advanced knowledge as possible. The Last of Us Part II features some of the boldest and most challenging storytelling I've ever experienced in any medium and it capitalizes on the interactive nature of games to tell its story in a singularly affecting way. It demands radical empathy in a way that would make almost any player uncomfortable, building to a climax of profound emotional catharsis. That narrative experience is wrapped up in a package that features some of the best graphics, audio, AI, level design, acting, and gameplay I've ever experienced. Every criticism I've seen of these elements falls apart in my mind as the choices made by the developers can almost without fail be tied back to how they relate to the narrative. Sections that feel grueling are meant to. Unique pacing decisions are extremely deliberate and meant to create a very specific emotional journey. I can't recommend this highly enough to anyone who finds being challenged emotionally to be a fulfilling experience. If you turn to games exclusively for escapism or pure fun, which is totally valid, this might not be the game for you. If, however, you embrace what it is trying to do and allow yourself to engage with the story and characters, playing The Last of Us Part II is an unparalleled gaming experience. This is a true masterpiece.

No spoiler review here. I really enjoyed the first game so I was just as excited for the 2nd one like everyone else. I’m about at the end of the game and so far I have enjoyed every minute of it. Despite all the criticism the game has received leading up to its release and all the comments regarding the story, I’ve found it enjoyable. Pick it up if you’re a series fan or just want to play a very detailed, story-driven game.

I am a huge fan of the first game and couldn't wait for the release of TLOU2. This game exceeded my expectations as a sequel. The graphics are amazing and now I can't wait for the inevitable PS5 remaster to see how they further enhance the visuals. The story is amazing and the gameplay is awesome. Lots of people had an issue with the way the story played out, but I didn't. I understand why it upset players though.

The Last of Us Part II is the ideal mix of an incredible Hollywood film with a fat spending plan with fun and streaming interactivity. The extraordinary composing will contact each player and won't leave an eye dry of tears. Battle and investigation are testing and lead the player to utilize innovativeness and spontaneous creation. A genuine work of art and an absolute necessity have for each PS4 proprietor.

This is one of the most mature, drama infused, well-told video games I've ever played. Even calling it a "video game" kinda feels like an injustice to what has been created here. This has some of the most nuanced acting I've ever seen in the medium and the gameplay and storytelling are both top notch. Highly, highly recommended for those that can stomach the gore that comes along with it.

This game was beyond intense and emotionally draining from start to finish. The story destroyed me in more ways than I can explain and while I didn't fully agree with some of the decisions made with the story, in the end all I wanted was more and for the story to keep on going. I'm hoping Naughty Dog continues the story, either with a sequel or a spin-off. This series is amazing and must go on! Game of the Year.

Most of the reviews here are about shipping issues and not the game itself, so don’t let them persuade you against getting this game. Naughtydog’s latest release doesn’t fall short when it comes to gameplay, graphics and most importantly... story. I was able to get mine on release day and have been playing a lot for two days and I’m still not done with the main story so, you know you’ll be getting your money’s worth.

When I’m going to play a game or watch a movie I don’t read reviews about because I don’t want be persuaded by them. But I can 100% say that this game is amazing, graphics are beautiful as hell and the plot is good but the actual hours of gameplay you put in this game is amazing the way the story makes you have the feels!! Characters are good!! I don’t mind the delay of the game either it was worth the wait

My only complaint is shipping. I will probably never pre-order a game from best buy again. Didn't get the game until almost a week after release date. Im only about 5 hrs in the game but if you liked part 1 this is that plus improvements. Story has gone in a slightly different direction but still good. Happy with my purchase of this edition, worth a buy.

I'm not saying you have to agree with everything the game states, but don't close your mind to a great story. It was intense, fun, and challenging at the same time. The immersion into the story was nice, and the additional characters and gameplay facets just made it better. It will never be as iconic as Part 1, but it is a great game nonetheless.

One of the most beautiful games ever made both visually and in terms of story. Some of the smoothest gameplay of this era, and most fully fleshed out characters ever. I didn’t think Naughty Dog could top themselves after the first, and I’m so glad to be proven wrong. I finished the game almost a month ago and it’s still on my mind daily. Every gamer needs this in their collection

Well so far the game is really good. I'm only on part 9. The graphics are insane and I'm not even playing on a ps4 pro. The gameplay and mechanics are top notch. The story is good so far I didn't watch any spoilers that were on the web didn't want to ruin it. I have little more than half left so we'll to see how it continues and ends.

Story really gets you invested in characters and will make you look at peoples reasons for fighting. Graphics are great that your wanting to look around an area and take in everything. Gameplay is great, and puzzles offered multiple ways to approach the solution. The included art book shows some of the possible character designs and the concept art is overall great.

This is probably the best game for ps4, I know this is a very bold statement, but from the gameplay, the graphics, story telling, and different characters you come across within the game no other PlayStation game compares. Naughty Dog out did themselves and it shows from all of the accolades they have won. Definitely worth the purchase and all ps4 owners must play

My favorite game. The story had me for about 2weeks after beating the game. I still think about how crazy this story is. The game play is awesome and they did not hold back on the graphics for this one. Highly recommend this game but you gotta play the first one before you jump into this one.

This game has been something I have been waiting for since The Last of Us came out years ago. I preordered it and always knew I would get the game as it will be top quality but I didn’t expect the game I got. What I got was one of the most deep and real connections games have to offer, really giving you the human emotion as if you really lived in that world. The game will draw you in by making you feel the hardships and love people go through expecially in a rollercoaster of an apocalypse haha. Given if you can’t handle tough human topics you will have to open your eyes to what humans have to deal with in a brutal world be that apocalypse or not. Naughty Dog put so much effect into everything including the way a rope will slack and pull tight as your throw it around things, each thing matters because the real world has all those interactions with things and people so to feel you it needs to be real and that’s how you feel the world and people are in this game, way more then any other game I have ever seen so if you’re a fan of good games, a fan of just a good deep story in general then you must purchase this game at some point in your life!!! Play The Last of Us Part 1 also if you haven’t!!!
