Really well done movie, personally think it is one of Cruises' best movies! Great Soundtrack as well!

Good movie at a great price. A large portion of the movie is subtitled since they are in Japan.

I heard good things about it. I like the concept of the story and looking forward to watching.

This movie basically takes place in the Civil War. Then Tom’s character goes to Japan. And that is where the movie really gets interesting. Well acted and great scenery .

This is an excellent film that is totally underrated. The Last Samurai really deserves a 4K blu ray release, but since there isn't one, this standard blu ray will have to do for now. The picture and audio quality are quite good here. And Hans Zimmer's beautiful score is presented very nicely as well. If you are a fan of Tom Cruise, Japanese culture, or samurai films in general, and somehow haven't seen this, you owe it to yourself to watch this one. The price of this blu ray was also great and made this an easy purchase.

This movie is just one of m favorite movies of all time. I love every single bit of it.

Actually a pretty good movie, I was skeptical at first, but overall I was impressed. A serious movie with unexpected things that happen. I think you will enjoy this.

The last Samurai blue ray 2003 is an excelent movie I recommend this movie

Tom Cruise with ptsd from the civil war getting hired to train Japanese soldiers how to fight. Overall, it was a good movie. Glad to add it to my collection.

It's 1876. Captain Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) has been sent to Japan in order to help the Imperial Japanese Army become more 'modern' and less 'traditional' and ultimately prepare them to fight the legendary Samurai. Events occur that cause Tom Cruise to be a captive of the deadly but extremely polite Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe) who is the leader of the Japanese Samurai. At this point, the viewer begins to learn why the Samurai are fighting to preserve their way of life against Western influences and Cruise's character becomes emotionally bound to them and he integrates himself into their society after working hard to earn their trust. However, the film is not solely about the struggle for the Samurai to keep their way of life, another subplot includes the low key and shy love relationship between Algren and Taka, a quiet widow (played with subtlety by Koyuki). Though it isn't a big part in the film, it highlights the emotional aspect of the film and shows that this is not a film about swords.

I like Tom Cruises movies! My family enjoy it. We had a nice family time!

The movie on dvd is much more detailed than the edited version on tv. You get more background on both Cruise and the Samurai and how they meet.
