This move is very underrated. It’s such a beautiful film. It’s romantic. Dramatic. Historical and captivating too. One of my guilty pleasures.

From Civil War battlefield to 19th century Samurai Japan. Great acting, plot, settings, writing. A former Union hero is hired to modernize the Japanese army and becomes immersed in the Samurai struggle to fight for the survival of their way of life in a modern military world.

Excellent movie well worth the money to own for multiple viewing. I think one of Tom Cruze better films, the other actors and actresses only enhance the movie and the story line behind this film. Highly recommend this to all except young children.

Great movie, one of the best with a setting in Japan. 13 Assassins good, even though this story line is more far-fetched with Tom Cruise being the "Last Samurai" but this movie is great regardless. The action is entertaining and exciting and the battles are suspenseful.

It’s not my favorite Cruise movie but I admire how he tries out new roles and ideas so willingly. This one has a unique setting and while it doesn’t land the emotional wallop of some similar films, it’s a solid flick

An excellant fillm about a lost world of Samuari honor with great performances by all the actors. Ken Watanabe, Billy Connolly, Tony Goldwin, Timothy Spall and Hiroyuki Sanada Koyuki. This movie is a heart breaker but well worth the viewing

A "Dances with Wolves" type movie that is relevant today. How much should culture be sacrificed for progress? This movies shows Tom Cruise's character encounter a different world in the samurai and how this world helps him to heal from his past.

Okay, so I hadn't watch this movie in years and I saw it at Best Buy for 7.99 and I immediately snatched it. Even though it's on Blu-Ray you can tell that the movie is somewhat old, however, it has aged well. This movie is a must watch.

Based on the Satsuma Rebellion in 19th century Japan, this is exciting action and thought-provoking fictionalization of events that changed the course of Japanese and world history. Gorgeous film that is well worth owning on Blu-Ray!

Price was def right to buy this version with digital copy and DVD is just a bonus. Movie is a good one actually opened it up and watched it right away which I rarely do. Anyway audio and video quality is great as expected for blu-ray.

In short if you are looking for another action movie in the vein of Braveheart or Troy you will like this movie. I found the acting to be very good, the music in the movie was cool, and the costumes the actors used were beautifully designed. The movies also features high production values. Always have had an interest in Japan/samurai, so bonus points for that.

This movie is and will always be one of my favorite movies , a great escape after a long day , it will take you away to another time and place and amaze you with unthought-of friendships made and a very distant past .

I saw this movie 10 years ago when I was a teenager and had not seen it since. Ordered it and watched it and I remembered how much of a good movie it is! If you like well acted movies with amazing stories, you'll like this movie.

I had been wanting get to see this movie for a while now and Best Buy's price just couldn't be beaten. It's a no-frills blu ray, barely any special features and a pop up menu didn't even show up when I put the disk in, but the movie is great and the picture is clean. For the low price, it's definitely a purchase that I'm pleased with

Tom Cruise is one of my favorite actors, and this is one of his best roles. It’s so different from his usual movies. It has a good story line, and there are plenty of good fight scenes.

Not a huge Tom Cruise fan, but he manages his role effectively in this film. As a period piece mostly taking place in 19th century Japan, it is amazing to visually take in. A nod to Kurosawa on so many levels.

We saw this at the theater but my wife brought it up recently. As we did not have a copy I purchased one for her. Fortunately Best Buy had the movie on hand. My wife and I very much enjoyed seeing it again.

One of Tom cruises best movies beautiful picture on blue ray

Very underrated film. Lots of action and emotion, with a great story and excellent character development. Very good quality transfer to blu ray. Been wanting to add this to the collection for a long time and happy I did!

I wasn't too sure about this movie but now that I have seen it, I believe it is one of the best! It is also a good history of Japan and it's unification. The ending is a pleasant surprise!
