This is one of Scorsese's most interesting films, and it does not disappoint. It was widely panned by religious groups initially, but it really isn't anti-Christian or anti-Jesus. It's showing an interesting "what if" scenario, and it's executed perfectly by Willem Dafoe in the role of the Christ. Criterion has done an excellent job restoring the film to better quality on blu ray than anyone has ever seen it before.

One great movie. I am glad I saw it since I am a major collector and happy to add to my collection with great sound and picture.

This is a great Criterion collection release. Martin Scorsese is the best.

Not as good as I expected. Kind of hard for me to watch. Willem Dafoe and most of the other actors seem to be stoned most of the time. Only David Bowie seemed really good though his part was kind of short. Too much nudity for a film supposedly about Jesus, I guess they were trying to sell it. I can't recommend it.

Movie is good to see at least once. Kinda slow paced and you might get lost a couple of times. The cast was good for the time. Okay altogether.
