    Nihon Falcom on Consoles

The Legend of Heroes series has always been well done because of Nihon Falcom's in house music, and attention to keep battles fun and engaging. There has always been good production values visually, but not as great in some of the 3D models. It is text heavy, but to be expected of Nihon Falcom's non-Action RPG or Strategy game work. This entry into the series is good with excellent characters and storyline, although it does somewhat cliff hanger the ending like most of the recent The Legend of Heroes games. I do feel somewhat that it's a bit odd in the pacing compared to an earlier entry like Trails in the Sky trilogy. The localization is very good. I'm still more used to Nihon Falcom games being on the PC, and after having years of playing imports of their games it's nice to see we're getting a lot of their games in English now. While I am somewhat annoyed that Nihon Falcom is now mainly developing on consoles, it feels like Blizzard becoming a console only company, it's nice that it's getting more localization, plus a lot of their re-mastered back catalogue is coming to the US on PC!

Fantastic characters, great intricate overarching plot, and complicated subject matters. However, be prepared that the story does not move very fast, in part because of the time spent on the characters and character development. The world feels very "real" for a fantasy setting of this nature, and takes advantage of the Trails universe to examine societal issues more so than the 'Sky' series does. My only complaints are with the framerate (it's sub 30 the entire game, and sometimes stutters WORSE than that). The texture work in places is very subpar. The artstyle itself however is good and helps make up for the aforementioned graphics issues. I really wish they had a PS4/PS3 option for this title, as a solid framerate and cleaned up graphics would have gone a long way.

I have put about 60 hours into this game so far and I continue to enjoy it. If you like JRPG's I think you will have a great time with this game. It kinda reminds me of Persona in some ways because you are a student going to school and you fight in dungeons too.

Game is sort of mix of the persona series and Valkyrie Chronicles. It has a school setting setting and it progressing through a calendar year much like persona. There are also links similar to social links that you work you work for improving. Combat is turn based and has characters move around a field. Overall I enjoyed it a great deal.

This game is not quite as good as as trail in the sky. However I would have give it a 5 star rating if they had include the Japanese audio sound track. The English dub is not good. Having said that, I will buy the sequel when it comes out. All Legend of Heroes gamers are recommended to anyone that are into traditional single player turn based RPG.

Falcom does it again with another amazing jrpg. Forget about Final Fantasy 15. If you get to play one jrpg this year, make it a Falcom game.

I have played many jrpgs in my day, but this is one of the most well written games I have played in a long time. Although it suffers from a few pacing issues, the story and character development are one of the best

This J style RPG is great fun. Disappointed that there is no JP voices but even then still great. Gameplay is fun with interactions and story line is engaging. You'll definitely want to pick up the sequel even before reaching the final chapter!

While the PSP games were decent, this is not only a jump graphically thanks to the PS3, but a better game overall.
