Do I even really have to elaborate on the title? Breath of the Wild is Zelda, reimagined for the modern age. It works exceptionally well on Switch, and is great docked or in portable mode.
The only game that I personally think rivals BOTW on Switch is Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which I also own. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate comes close, as well.
As you know, close isn't exactly there. If you pick up a Switch, then you absolutely must pick-up BOTW too. If you get no other game, get BOTW.

Tell your wife and kids that you will be unavailable for the next few months as you will be addictively playing this for the next one hundred hours. It is a huge game, with plenty to do. This is honestly my first Zelda game... I know I know... and I must say that it is one of the best games I have played. I would say that it is especially good for a younger audience as a lot of challenges can be solved in an intuitive manner, which teaches about physics, ecosystems, social interactions, critical thinking... Play some Zelda kids!

Amazing game. Mechanics are clunky at times but I’m just glad they brought the Zelda universe. The world is giant and the graphics are great. Can’t wait to beat this and buy Tears of the Kingdom.

This game has a way of immersing you into the world of Hyrule. It starts off slow but once you are freed from the tutorial area, the world becomes seemingly infinite. I have heard of people spending 300+ hours playing this game, and I believe them.
I have heard that this game is nothing like the previous Zelda titles in a few ways, if you’re coming from one of them then have open expectations. If you're new to the franchise then welcome, because you’ll enjoy your stay.

I'm not really a Zelda fan...I've played them but never really finished a game since Ocarina on the 64...
It's an open world Zelda game like I've never seen before. I have ADD when I play...I set a destination and I end up cutting grass for 20 minutes and swimming and fishing...and I forget where I'm supposed to be.
The side missions are somewhat fun. It's like 80% side missions. So game play is so close to endless.
