This game was based on a GameBoy Color game and was faithfully brought to life on the switch. The depth of field effect is a little strong but other than that the graphics and toy aesthetics are very nice. Others have complained about frame rate issues but I'm not particularly bothered by them. The new music is really well done and incredibly charming. Overall this remake is awesome, just wish it wasn't full price AAA, but that's Nintendo for you.

Overall this is a good game. A solid 15-20 hour game with a lot of charm, humor, and creativity. The only real drawback is the game’s frame rate constantly stutters. It tries to handle a full 60 fps but when moving from screen to screen the game dips into what seems like the 30s. It’s not a good look and I hope they find a way to fix this. As a remake it handles a lot of the jank from the original game very well. It maps certain items to buttons permanently instead of making you switch them out all the time. The game has a cute art style, some great puzzles and dungeons, and is definitely worth picking up, if you think it’s worth it. I myself would value this game at $30 or $40 and not a full $60 considering the game’s length as well as being a remake of an existing game. Also the frame drops are a concern. I suppose this would be an 8/10.

What a great way to follow up Breath of the Wild, a back-to-roots remake. Great from start to finish. Graphically gorgeous, lengthy story, and lots of secrets to find. Only negatives I could say are there are a few frame stutters in the overworld, and the dungeon building mechanic isn't all that fun. Regardless of those, this is a must buy for Zelda fans and highly recommended for everyone else.

This game has a very interesting art style and looks really good on the Switch! The frame rate does slow down in some parts but it doesn't bother me too much. So far it does seem to be a bit easier compared to other Zelda games, but it's still very fun. I never played the original so I'm glad that they made this version.

This remake of Link’s awakening looks amazing! Honestly one of my favorite stories in the zelda series. Framerate can be a bit slow at times, but overall a pretty good experience. Great music, great visuals, fantastic story. If you’re a fan of the 2D Zelda formula, this is a must.

The Link's Awakening remake is really really good. It does have a few hiccups with it's frame rate currently, and the choice to put blurring on the top and bottom of the screen wasn't something I liked at all. But in terms of gameplay and especially the awesome music, this game is great. Remade very well.

For anybody who was around in the days of the Gameboy, the precursor to the likes of the DS/3DS, and even the Switch itself, Link's Awakening was a must-have title. A quirky, almost satirical take on the then young series, the very first handheld outing for the franchise exploded into popularity that has last well over two decades. The remake boasts all of the improvements of the title's Gameboy Color rerelease, along with many new features such as the Chamber Dungeon, and Amiibo functionality. The toy-like graphics bring to mind the classic 2D sprites of old, reimagined with the power of 3D polygons, capturing the cute and whimsical style of the characters in a whole new way. The music has also been remade to be much richer than ever before, while still evoking the same memorable melodies that captivated the original players of the 1993 title. If you're new to the Zelda series, or have only cut your teeth on its first Switch outing, Breath of the Wild, you owe it to yourself to try out this legendary entry in the long-running series.

Link's Awakening is the reason I bought the Nintendo Switch. I played this game on the Gameboy, and feel in love with it. As soon as I saw the ads for this game on the Switch, and I knew I had to get the console, and the game doesn't disappoint. It brings me back to the original game, but the improvements are extraordinary. The graphics are very clear and the 3D effects just jump at you. The game runs fluidly, and the gameplay is still as challenging as before. Maybe a little easier because I beat the game before. It does have a "hero" option where hearts are not dropped by enemies, nor can you find them in bushes or by breaking pots. Another improvement from the old game is that you don't need to use the 'A' or 'B' buttons to use certain things like the power bracelet or Pegasus boots. They're automatically added to Link's abilities. The movement and expressions of all the characters are a plus. The game is short, when compared to other Legend of Zelda games, but I still think this is worth it.

I got this game for my younger son and he likes Breath of the Wild bit given this is an older gamer with updated visuals but still retains the harder difficultly of those newer to the Zelda franchise, it can be a little frustrating. But that is not the games fault it's just how games have changed compared to when this one was originally released. It's really an instant classic again on a new system. Just be aware that you will need to do more than just walk around exploring in this game to level up enough.

Great little game, very reminiscent of A Link to The Past gameplay style and that is my favorite LoZ game. Beat it in about a weekend, it was very fun!

This is what Zelda is all about, Not running around for 20 minutes to find the same temples & enemies to the point of boredom like in botw. You actually feel like you make progress in this one. Story, music, controls, graphics, all is here.

I purchased this game along with a shiny new yellow switch lite. I've played the Gameboy Color DX version and absolutely loved it. Its a Zelda game so you an expect all of the good things that come with it. The switch version stays true to the formula with updated graphics, music and gameplay. The bokeh effect is fantastic and the animated cut scenes are a nice touch. My issue with it is the framerates drops from 60fps to 30fps when ever you transition from map to map or enter/exit and dungeon or underworld
